About The Position

We are pleased to announce an opportunity for a Regional Sales Manager, Food at Vantage. This is a role on our sales team responsible for driving commercial strategy and sales growth within our Food business, with a strong focus on functional ingredients including release agents. We are seeking a highly capable and forward thinking professional with experience in Food and ingredient sales or chemical sales who can deliver meaningful value to both the organization and our customers. The position is remote and candidates must reside near a major airport to support extensive travel requirements. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong commercial excellence, a proven ability to capture value, and the adaptability needed to effectively engage with customers and stakeholders. This role is responsible for sales and gross margin growth of assigned segments, customers, and territories. You will have the opportunity to develop account strategies, manage key accounts and contribute to business strategy and financial success. This is a rewarding opportunity, with visible impact both internally and with business partners. The position will frequently involve extended hours as necessary, the ability to work well under pressure and an intense pace.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business or similar technical field is preferred.
  • Bilingual in English and French
  • Demonstrates prompt, proactive and customer-focused support, which is essential for success in this role
  • Strong knowledge of principles and best practices for presenting, promoting, and selling products or services, including marketing strategy, product demonstration and sales techniques
  • Proven ability to research, understand, and develop both current and prospective customer relationships.
  • Highly articulate, with the ability to communicate professionally and effectively, both verbally and in writing with sales teams, technical staff, and all levels of management
  • Excellent planning, interpersonal, organizational, and time management skills
  • Proficient in commonly used business and sales software, including MS Office Suite; with the ability to conduct effective internet based research
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to deliver clear, compelling, and persuasive presentations on complex topics to diverse audiences
  • Strong quantitative aptitude, with the ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability, statistical inference, fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions.
  • Demonstrated ability to apply logical or scientific thinking to a wide range of practical and abstract problems
  • Willingness and ability to travel 50% or more, including both day and overnight trips.

Responsibilities

  • Create, manage, and attain sales and gross margin targets for the responsibilities assigned.
  • Prospecting Accounts, analyze market data and provide insights for business alignment.
  • Build and develop new and existing accounts and manage sales opportunities in sync with business and account strategies.
  • Resolve any issues and problems faced by customers and manage issues to maintain customer trust.
  • Actively engage with the Vantage Commercial Excellence Program to develop account strategies, create pre-call plans, follow-up with post-call reports and actively manage the opportunity funnel with the support of CRM
  • Prepare call reports, forecasts and quarterly presentations for current or new business activity, new products, and other relevant marketing or competitive information.
  • Provide feedback to the appropriate business functions regarding product performance, new customer or product opportunities and competitive intelligence including pricing data.
  • Assist accounting and customer service in collection activities.
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders to drive commercial excellence.
