We are seeking a sales management professional for our Industrial sales segment to manage the sales personnel and activities in the region that includes Iowa, Illinois, Kansas, and southern counties of Minnesota.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, or related field.
  • 5-10 year outside sales experience in an industrial distribution or manufacturing environment.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Effective written and oral communication skills.
  • Excellent presentation skills.
  • Ability to define and resolve problems.
  • Strong computer skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, business analytics software)

Nice To Haves

  • Previous supervisory or management experience highly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Effectively mentor and manage the sales activities of your direct reports to increase profitable sales and provide excellent service to our customers.
  • Participate in moderate to long term business planning processes, including budgeting and staffing, with direct responsibility for hiring, developing and managing performance of outside sales personnel.
  • Establish, assign and analyze sales territories for maximum penetration, including participating in joint calls with sales reps.
  • Administer sales leads including qualifying, following up and reporting; develop and implement system to track and monitor leads.
  • Develop and execute strategic growth plan to ensure division meets sales budget relative to components, value-added services and engineered system sales.
  • Manage marketing, sales, presentations and internal/external training of IES’s customer inventory management programs, including KanBan/MRP, bin-filling, kits, sub-assemblies, delivery services and other value-added programs.
  • Review sales reports for budget attainment, sales personnel goal achievement and profit margins, taking action as appropriate.
  • Manage customer communications through utilization of customer software system.
  • Assist/support sales personnel in sales presentations and major proposals as appropriate.
  • Participate in processes and programs aimed at continuous improvement and safety.
  • Perform other duties as directed.
