About The Position

The Regional Sales Engineer plays a pivotal role in selling company products and services to customers in the assigned territory. This role focuses on creating sales opportunities, defending existing sales, and penetrating new markets with existing and potential customers. Requirements

  • Minimum of five years of experience in electronics.
  • Extensive product and technical knowledge within the distribution industry.
  • Customer and application knowledge within the given region or country of responsibility.
  • Experienced in the NBO Identification and Development process at a customer level.
  • Strong organizational skills to set priorities, methodical approach, and project management skills.
  • Team player working proactively with other TSE’s and the Outside Sales team in the region.
  • Good sales and negotiation skills.
  • Self-motivated and driven, able to work from home office.
  • Good Presentation and Mentoring skills required.
  • Strong verbal/written communications and interpersonal skills.
  • Analytical skills for setting local / regional strategies and measuring success and results.
  • Strong verbal and written English language skills.
  • Extensive knowledge and High skill level of all relevant IT systems and MS Office applications.
  • Must possess a valid Driver’s License, safe driving record and be insurable by the Companies’ liability carrier.
  • Requires travel (~50%), amount varies depending on territory.
  • Candidates must be local or willing to relocate at their own expense.

Nice To Haves

  • Preferred Bachelor of Science Degree in a related field (e.g. business, engineering, etc.).
  • Previous knowledge or work experience in the Automotive & Transportation industry is preferred.
  • Previous knowledge of sensor experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Develops technical product, application, and supplier strategies with TBU leadership and Regional Sales teams.
  • Works closely with Outside Sales teams and strategic suppliers to execute the design-in of focus products into end customer applications.
  • Drives the sale of company products and services by developing sales strategies, generating leads, and calling on segment customers to achieve sales objectives.
  • Monitors activities using the Customer Account Manager (CAM) tool and Opportunity Management System (OMS) reports.
  • Meets regularly with local Branch Product Managers and General Managers/Outside Sales Managers to review progress towards OMS targets.
  • Reports on non-branch-based activities to TBU Leadership.
  • Acts as the primary account manager for key OEM locations in the assigned geography.
  • Creates new opportunities for key segment lines by actively calling on customers.
  • Serves as the subject matter expert (SME) for the TTI sales organization within the transportation business segment.
  • Facilitates training programs in territory branch sales offices to educate personnel on targeted customers and Segment market products.
  • Understands supplier design registration programs and design protection cost discount structures.
  • Understands local supplier competition offerings, market pricing, and market conditions.
  • Establishes and maintains effective business rapport with branch sales managers and management staff.
  • Focuses on technical new business demand creation and liaises with local suppliers, updating them on activity and holding regular design reviews.
  • Pursues new business leads using all available resources (reps, trade shows, networking, manufacturers, internet, TTI Internal resources) to expand the customer base and secure new business.
  • Facilitates quarterly business reviews (QBR) with suppliers and regular meetings with internal management.
  • Communicates design wins at key OEM customers to branch locations.
  • Answers and resolves key segment customer technical questions, problems, and complaints.
  • Maintains market awareness on competitor activities, industry trends, and new concepts.
  • Participates in the TTI Total Quality Program by supporting quality, ensuring processes are followed, and identifying areas for process improvement.
