The Regional Sales Director, Oncology is a first-line sales leader responsible for leading, coaching, and developing a team of Oncology Key Account Managers (KAMs) to achieve and exceed regional revenue objectives and commercial goals. This role reports to the National Sales Director, Oncology and is accountable for recruiting, developing, coaching, and managing KAM performance. The position ensures effective and compliant execution of Cosette’s oncology commercial strategy across various healthcare settings. The Regional Sales Director translates national brand strategy into regional execution, develops regional business plans, optimizes customer engagement, and ensures the field organization effectively communicates product value, addresses customer needs, and drives appropriate product utilization. As Cosette expands its oncology portfolio, this leader will be critical in building and optimizing a high-performing oncology field organization.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred.
  • 10+ years of pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or specialty healthcare sales experience.
  • Demonstrated success achieving sales objectives in a complex healthcare environment.
  • Prior people leadership experience preferred, including direct management, field coaching, training leadership, or demonstrated sales leadership responsibility.
  • Experience leading customer-facing teams and driving consistent execution across a geographic region.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • Ability to travel 50–70%, including overnight travel.
  • Must reside within the assigned region or be willing to relocate prior to start.
  • Strong coaching, talent development, and performance management capabilities.
  • Ability to analyze sales data, market trends, and customer insights to drive business decisions.
  • Strong oncology clinical and commercial understanding.
  • Ability to translate national strategy into effective regional execution.
  • Strong communication, presentation, and influencing skills with internal and external stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Recruit, hire, onboard, coach, and develop a high-performing team of Oncology Key Account Managers.
  • Establish clear performance expectations, provide ongoing feedback, and manage performance through regular coaching and formal review processes.
  • Conduct regular field coaching visits to assess execution, strengthen selling capabilities, and improve business performance.
  • Develop KAM capabilities through coaching, mentoring, training reinforcement, and targeted development plans.
  • Build organizational capability through talent assessment, succession planning, and identification of future leadership talent.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, customer focus, integrity, and compliance.
  • Achieve or exceed regional revenue objectives, brand performance goals, and commercial targets.
  • Develop and execute regional and local business plans that prioritize key accounts, optimize customer engagement, and maximize commercial impact.
  • Translate national brand strategies into effective regional execution, ensuring consistent messaging, appropriate customer engagement, and pull-through of brand objectives.
  • Analyze regional performance data, market trends, customer insights, and competitive dynamics to identify opportunities and develop action plans.
  • Coach KAMs on account planning, customer prioritization, business planning, and execution excellence.
  • Provide accurate regional forecasts, identify business risks and opportunities, and communicate performance updates to National Sales Leadership.
  • Optimize regional resource allocation, including customer targeting, promotional resources, speaker programs, and educational initiatives.
  • Provide leadership oversight for priority oncology accounts, including community oncology practices, academic centers, hospitals, health systems, and other strategic customers.
  • Support KAMs in developing account strategies that address customer needs, improve engagement, and drive appropriate product utilization.
  • Partner with KAMs to understand customer challenges related to clinical adoption, reimbursement pathways, access barriers, and patient support resources.
  • Ensure customer insights and field feedback are effectively communicated to internal partners to inform commercial strategy.
  • Partner closely with Marketing, Medical Affairs, Market Access, Trade, Commercial Operations, and Sales Leadership to support successful execution of oncology brand strategies.
  • Collaborate with Market Access and Account teams to support access strategies, reimbursement education, and pull-through initiatives.
  • Partner with Medical Affairs to support compliant scientific engagement and appropriate utilization of medical resources.
  • Work with Sales Operations to monitor performance dashboards, improve reporting discipline, optimize CRM utilization, and enhance field effectiveness.
  • Provide field insights and customer feedback to inform brand planning, launch activities, and lifecycle management initiatives.
  • Manage regional budgets, including speaker programs, educational initiatives, promotional resources, and other commercial investments.
  • Demonstrate disciplined resource stewardship and evaluate return on commercial investments.
  • Ensure accurate and timely completion of required administrative responsibilities, including CRM documentation, forecasting, expense reporting, and required training.
  • Ensure all regional activities are conducted in full compliance with Cosette policies, the PhRMA Code, OIG guidance, and applicable federal and state laws and regulations.
  • Maintain high standards for operational execution, data integrity, and ethical customer engagement.
