About The Position

RD Nutrition Consultants LLC is seeking an experienced Part-Time Regional Registered Dietitian to provide clinical and operational oversight for multiple skilled nursing facilities and an adult day health program throughout Massachusetts. This hybrid position offers a flexible schedule with a combination of remote responsibilities and quarterly onsite visits. The role involves supporting facility-based dietitians with clinical leadership, regulatory compliance, and quality improvement.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Dietetics, Nutrition, or a related field from an accredited program.
  • Registered by the Commission on Dietetic Registration.
  • Current Massachusetts licensure or eligibility to obtain required state licensure.
  • Minimum of one year of clinical dietitian experience preferred.
  • Previous skilled nursing, long-term care, post-acute care, or healthcare food-service experience strongly preferred.
  • Familiarity with MDS requirements, malnutrition identification, weight-loss investigations, care planning, and clinical documentation.
  • Experience with kitchen sanitation audits, therapeutic menu reviews, and regulatory compliance.
  • Knowledge of state and federal survey processes and applicable nutrition-care regulations.
  • Strong leadership, training, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and provide oversight across multiple locations.
  • Reliable transportation and willingness to travel to the assigned Massachusetts facilities.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct quarterly site visits focused on clinical nutrition outcomes, dietary operations, regulatory compliance, audits, and quality improvement.
  • Review resident records and nutrition documentation for clinical accuracy and regulatory compliance.
  • Review MDS documentation and ensure the appropriate identification and tracking of malnutrition indicators.
  • Audit weight-loss investigations, nutrition interventions, and resident care plans.
  • Review kitchen sanitation, food safety practices, and dietary operations for compliance with applicable state and federal requirements.
  • Review therapeutic menus and observe meal service to assess food quality, texture compliance, and proper delivery.
  • Provide regulatory guidance and updates related to clinical nutrition, food safety, skilled nursing, and adult day health programs.
  • Lead annual mock surveys and support ongoing state and federal survey preparedness.
  • Host quarterly continuing-education webinars and collaborative meetings with onsite Registered Dietitians.
  • Assist with the orientation, training, and mentorship of newly hired Registered Dietitians.
  • Provide occasional interim clinical or operational coverage during vacancies or leaves of absence.
  • Perform other duties as assigned and within the Registered Dietitian’s scope of practice.
  • Adhere to all facility policies and procedures.
