About The Position

The University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV) is seeking a Regional Recruiter based in Florida to join their Undergraduate Recruitment team. This remote position reports to the Assistant Director of Regional & College Recruitment and serves as a liaison between Admissions, Financial Aid, academic units, and other university organizations. The role is responsible for outreach and recruitment of prospective undergraduate and graduate students. This includes traveling to assigned regions, visiting high schools and community colleges, planning recruitment schedules, advising students and families, developing and implementing recruitment programs and events, analyzing recruitment trends, giving presentations, assisting with promotional materials, reviewing applications, evaluating candidates, troubleshooting application issues, maintaining communication with applicants, and achieving yearly recruiting goals. The recruiter will implement a marketing plan to attract specific demographics, stay informed about changes in target populations, identify potential recruitment barriers, and take initiative to address them. Travel within assigned regions and to other out-of-state markets is expected, along with irregular hours and weekend work as necessary. This position contributes to the core mission of increasing enrollment and promoting equitable student success by addressing systemic obstacles and implementing strategic services, programs, and support to enhance student enrollment, retention, progression, timely completion, and equitable outcomes. Occasional travel and some evening/weekend work may be necessary.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university as recognized by the United States Department of Education and/or the Council on Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA).
  • 1 – 3 years of Related Professional Experience.
  • Related experience, particularly in any customer service or public facing type of position.
  • Graduate Assistant positions can substitute for professional experience if in a related area or similar assignments.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle with valid auto insurance.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain a high level of internal and external public contact serving as a liaison between the Offices of Admissions and Financial Aid, various academic units, and other organizations within the University.
  • Responsible for outreach efforts and recruitment of prospective undergraduate and graduate students to the University.
  • Traveling to and from or within assigned recruiting regions; visiting high school campuses, community colleges, and other affiliated events.
  • Planning, arranging and implementing a personal recruitment schedule.
  • Providing advisement to students and families regarding educational opportunities and options.
  • Planning, developing, implementing, and evaluating programs, special projects and events, and other initiatives geared to recruiting students within targeted populations in conjunction with event staff in the Office of Admissions.
  • Analyzing trends in student recruitment and retention programs.
  • Giving presentations for and in various settings such as parent nights in high schools, community colleges, and other public audiences.
  • Assisting with creating and distributing a range of resource and promotional materials designed for the recruitment and retention of students in targeted areas.
  • Reviewing individual applications and evaluating candidates for admission eligibility.
  • Troubleshooting problems with applications, and overseeing and/or coordinating & maintaining communications with applicants.
  • Keeping accurate records of recruiting activities and contacts.
  • Assisting with other student service projects and events as requested.
  • Working to achieve yearly assigned recruiting goals.
  • Planning and managing recruitment activities in assigned regions.
  • Implementing a marketing plan to attract the demographic in their target areas set by the leadership in the Office of Undergraduate Admissions.
  • Staying abreast of changes that occur in their target populations and identifying potential barriers to recruiting and admitting new students.
  • Taking independent initiative to act in response to such barriers.
  • Expected to travel within their targeted regions in their state, and to other out of state markets as assigned.
  • Work irregular hours and weekends as necessary.
