About The Position

NaphCare is seeking a Regional Psychologist to join their team in Montgomery, Alabama. This role involves providing psychological treatment and support to residents within the Alabama Department of Corrections, working collaboratively with correctional officers and other medical professionals. Requirements

Hold a current, unrestricted Psychologist license in Alabama.
Be able to obtain BLS CPR Certification (AHA preferred).
Experience with underserved and marginalized populations, including those with mental health and substance use disorders.
Strong communication skills and ability to communicate with diverse individuals, including other medical professionals, correctional staff, and judges.
Ability to interpret and analyze data to create treatment plans.
Knowledge of applicable laws, regulations, and industry standards.
Ability to maintain confidentiality of all proprietary and/or confidential information.
Maintain integrity, professionalism, and adhere to a Code of Conduct.
Comply with all facility(s) correctional healthcare policies, procedures, and legal requirements.
Pass the facility’s criminal background check and drug screening.

Responsibilities

Provide psychological leadership, consultation, and direct services to patients to improve mental health and reduce recidivism.
Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team in the assessment and treatment of mental and emotional disorders.
Assist inmates in preparing for societal reintegration, including support for housing, employment, and other resources.
Offer counseling and support to help inmates manage emotional challenges, cope with incarceration, and develop coping mechanisms.
Coordinate, lead, and participate in educational training activities related to mental health care.
Conduct risk assessments to identify potential dangers to inmates and the public, informing decisions about housing, treatment, and release.
