About The Position

HallKeen, a Boston-based property management company with 33 years of experience, is seeking a Regional Property Manager for its South of Boston portfolio. The company is undergoing a new phase of growth and expansion, presenting an opportunity for career advancement. The ideal candidate will have strong supervisory and communication skills, with a comprehensive background in budgeting, financial oversight, and cash management. This role involves full responsibility for ensuring properties meet or exceed budget expectations and comply with all state, federal, and local regulations, including oversight from agencies like Spectrum, HUD, HPD, and HDC. The Regional Manager will maintain regular contact with regulatory agencies, property owners, and staff, ensure adherence to compliance standards, provide on-site leadership and support, and oversee staff training within the portfolio. This position reports directly to the Chief Operating Officer.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Real Estate, Finance, Public Administration or related field
  • 5+ years progressive multifamily leadership with affordable housing experience
  • 5+ years leading multi-site teams
  • Deep knowledge of LIHTC, Section 8/HUD, HPD and HDC programs, Fair Housing, and compliance requirements
  • Proven success in NOI, occupancy, delinquency, and compliance performance across large portfolios
  • Proficiency in Microsoft 365 and property management software (RealPage, MRI)
  • Proven leadership, analytical, communication, and change-management skills.

Nice To Haves

  • CPM strongly preferred
  • NAHP-e, HCCP, COS, TCS, or equivalent designations a plus

Responsibilities

  • Ensure each property in the portfolio meets or exceeds budget expectations.
  • Maintain compliance with all applicable state, federal, and local regulations, including oversight from agencies such as Spectrum, HUD, HPD, HDC, and other relevant monitoring bodies.
  • Maintain regular contact with state and local regulatory agencies, property owners, and staff.
  • Ensure consistent adherence to compliance standards.
  • Be on-site regularly to provide leadership, oversight, and support across the portfolio.
  • Oversee all staff training within the portfolio.
