About The Position

The Regional Program Coordinator (RPC) plays a foundational role in supporting the Regional Program Director (RPD) in advancing the Maryland Food Bank’s (MFB) food access strategy through the region’s food distribution partners. The Coordinator is essential to building partner trust in MFB and ensuring that processes and information are completed accurately and remain up to date. They play a critical role in supporting partner compliance through site inspections and contributing to partner capacity building. The Coordinator is responsive and flexible, adapting to shifting priorities and embracing change with agility. The Coordinator understands the importance of centering the lived experiences of neighbors, with their contributions playing a vital role in ensuring regional solutions are culturally responsive and inclusive. The Coordinator promotes and contributes to an inclusive, collaborative team culture where diverse perspectives are welcomed and valued. Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED. Equivalent experience, including non-traditional career paths, grassroots community organizing, and lived experience of food insecurity, will be considered.
  • At least two (2) years of experience in a relevant field performing support tasks and providing customer service, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Effective communication, relationship-building, and customer service skills, with the ability to work effectively with individuals at all levels of an organization.
  • Demonstrated cultural competence and understanding of equity and inclusion principles, with the ability to apply them when engaging with colleagues and the community.
  • Ability to contribute to a positive, productive, and inclusive work environment and team culture.
  • Proficiency with basic computer applications, including email, spreadsheets, word processing, remote meeting platforms, and internet navigation.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy, with the ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
  • Experience coordinating logistical details for events, workshops, or projects.
  • Ability to adapt to shifting priorities and embrace change with flexibility and agility.
  • If driving on Maryland Food Bank business, must possess a valid driver’s license and have an acceptable Motor Vehicle Record (MVR), including no prior DUI/DWI convictions and fewer than two (2) points against the license.
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen, including marijuana, and background check.

Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative support to the Regional Program Director (RPD) in implementing regional strategies and strengthening partner capacity, including planning, coordinating, hosting, and tracking partner meetings, convenings, and events.
  • Collaborate with the RPD to coordinate projects, determine next steps, and ensure timely follow-through on action items.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with community partners by listening with empathy and responding in a professional, proactive, and solution-oriented manner. Escalate issues to the RPD when appropriate.
  • Follow and apply established Maryland Food Bank (MFB) processes, procedures, and guidelines across all regional activities.
  • Coordinate partner changes of information and new partner onboarding, including organizing, tracking, and maintaining required documentation and files.
  • Assist with partner site inspections in collaboration with the RPD and follow up on required documentation and action items.
  • Maintain accurate and complete partner records and system data, ensuring data integrity and compliance with established requirements.
  • Support special team projects and initiatives as assigned.
  • Assist with hiring, onboarding, and training new team members as needed.
  • Provide coverage and support to other regions during team transitions, staffing gaps, or periods of increased workload.
