In your future role as a Regional Procurement Director, you will Provide visible, values-based leadership for the regional procurement organization. Set the vision and direction, build alignment across the business, and model Nouryon’s standards of integrity and performance. Own the development and execution of sourcing strategies across all categories in scope, including targets, timelines, and resource plans. Lead rigorous and objective contract negotiations with key internal stakeholders, legal department and support groups. Lead business reviews with key stakeholders and business lines to assess risk, shape future strategy, and surface cost-reduction and improvement opportunities. Build and maintain strong relationships with strategic suppliers to ensure cost, quality, and delivery targets are met. Build, lead, and develop a high-performing team of Category Managers, setting clear direction, expectations, and accountability across both strategic and day-to-day category management. Accountable for delivering all Business line Procurement goals and objectives. Ownership of Nouryon Procurement value creation that drives company profitability. Partner with Business line leadership to set the goals, objectives, and measures that maximize Business profitability. Attract, hire, and onboard top procurement talent, ensuring the organization is fully and capably staffed against current and future needs. Coach, appraise and develop team members, and build bench strength and a strong succession pipeline that sustains capability and prepares people for future roles.

Requirements

  • Bachelor or Masters Degree in a business-related area or industry, or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum 10 years of procurement and leadership experience, including category management and a proven record of building, leading, and developing teams.
  • Excellent personal integrity and ethical and moral standards.
  • Proven people leader with a track record of attracting, hiring, developing, and retaining talent and building high-performing teams.
  • Builds bench strength and succession depth; coaches and grows the next generation of procurement leaders.
  • Business savvy and strong understanding of market dynamics and drivers.
  • Good understanding of the Procurement and Supply Chain function: strategy, processes, SSM, supply chain, processes, systems and organization.
  • Change management: managing improvement programs at a global scale and with diverse teams as well as the cultural aspects of the change to be delivered.
  • Excellent communicator, both in communication with specialists and with main stakeholders
  • Stress resistance, flexible, problem-solving attitude.
  • Strong focus on value creation and performance management.
  • Good understanding of external business trends.
  • Strong analytical skills: highly numerate, structured, organized, and accurate.
  • Good understanding of the chemical supply chains relevant to Nouryon, including trends in those markets and their potential impact on sourcing strategies.
  • Seen by others as credible, trustworthy, and open and receptive to new ideas.
  • Gravitas and presence to build trust-based relationships across the organization and with customers, partners, and suppliers; persuasive, inspirational, and able to get things done, with excellent relationship-management and presentation skills.
  • Fluent in English.

Nice To Haves

  • Background in economics, finance, or commodity trading within investment banking, hedge fund or similar would be advantageous.
  • Private Equity and Chemical industry experience would be advantageous.
  • Additional languages are an asset.
