About The Position

Labcorp is seeking a Phlebotomy Regional Manager to join their team in Raleigh, NC. This role oversees the day-to-day operations of a region, providing coaching and mentoring to supervisors and phlebotomists. The manager will work closely with large accounts to support operational services through phlebotomy, ensure compliance with regulations, monitor productivity, resolve client issues, and manage patient flow and inventory. Financial analysis, inspections of patient service centers, and reporting of performance issues are also key responsibilities. Operational duties include payroll, scheduling, and performance appraisals. The role focuses on cost management through minimizing turnover and controlling overtime. The manager will also assist in setting up new Patient Service Centers and perform specimen collection when needed, with travel to additional sites required. Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED or equivalent
  • 5 years or more experience in Phlebotomy
  • 2 years or more experience as a supervisor
  • Knowledge of phlebotomy duties, responsibilities and techniques
  • Strong leadership skills and proven ability to manage and mentor a team
  • Ability to communicate professionally and effectively with internal and external customers
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
  • Experience with MS Office programs

Nice To Haves

  • Associates degree
  • 8 years or more phlebotomy experience
  • 2 years or more supervisory experience in phlebotomy
  • In lieu of work experience, a Phlebotomy certification or completed training program must come from an accredited agency

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the day to day operations of a region that includes supervisors and phlebotomists working in patient service center and/or client office locations
  • Provide coaching and mentoring to supervisory staff as well as phlebotomy staff
  • Work closely with large accounts to support operational services through phlebotomy
  • Ensure all policies and procedures are updated and implemented in each territory in compliance with state and federal regulations and company mandates
  • Monitor monthly productivity and report any deviations as necessary
  • Resolve any client related matters or customer complaints appropriately
  • Ensure patient flow, wait times, inventory levels are being properly maintained
  • Complete regular and timely financial analyses for all department related positions
  • Ensure regular and timely completion of periodic inspections of patient service centers
  • Report any performance, compliance or staffing related issues and work with the appropriate departments toward resolution
  • Perform operational duties such as payroll, monthly schedules and performance appraisals
  • Manage costs effectively by minimizing employee turnover and controlling overtime costs
  • Assist in the setup of new Patient Service Centers and/or client offices
  • Perform, collect and prepare specimens when needed
  • Travel to additional sites as necessary
