About The Position

This position is instrumental in Region wide change initiatives and DYS policies and procedures. This position provides DYS representation that provides division knowledge and input with outside partnering agencies. This position supports the Regional Services team by being a key decision making member of internal and external committees. This position works to establish working relationships with CDHS departments involved with the Division to best serve our youth and families. This position plays a solution focused role for the regions to specifically address all the elements affiliated with case management. This position will provide coaching to regional staff and mentoring opportunities for professional development to strengthen the case conceptualization process used in client management. This position will also provide a voice for the Division of Youth Services at various external committees and agency workgroups that will be seen as a subject matter expert on regional procedures and protocols. When support is needed in an MDT or Youth Progress Review within the professionals involved with the youth, this position will work closely with them to provide guidance and alternative solutions in order to honor the risk assessments identified needs as well as the Treatment Plan and Youth Development Plan. This role will then be a liaison between the regions, behavioral health, and education to provide statewide collaborative solutions and decision making throughout the MDT process.

Requirements

  • Seven (7) years of relevant experience in an occupation related to the work assigned to this position OR A combination of related education and/or relevant experience in an occupation related to the work assigned equal to seven (7) years
  • Be a minimum of 21 years of age
  • Current/Valid and non-restricted CO Driver’s License

Responsibilities

  • This position is the Staff Authority relating to Division of Youth Services policies, practice and procedures as they relate to juvenile justice systems and regional protocols.
  • Coordinates with Regional Services Administrator to ensure each region meets the minimum required services and initiative-based changes.
  • Provides support to the regions change initiatives, statute changes, regional operating procedures and community initiatives, especially policies associated with regional based initiatives by providing the professional education to address policies and procedures.
  • Provides support to client managers to ensure fidelity that the Multi-Disciplinary Team (MDT) model is being followed.
  • This role is involved with several external committees that partner with DYS or are within CDHS.
  • Participation in community forums to keep the public informed of regionally based programs and services
  • Provides contracted providers with regional specific educational materials and assist with the 480 budget
  • Represents DYS Regions on external and internal committees
  • Provide DYS representation when working with external agencies and other CDHS partnering divisions
  • Attendance at juvenile parole hearings and providing professional feedback and support to regional staff.
  • Research and analyze best practice in transitioning youth from residential settings to parole.
  • Coordinate, develop and oversee the implementation of consistent transition practices the Division’s transition processes in all 4 Regions.
  • Takes a leadership role in collaborating with regional champions and representatives to lead change initiatives.
  • Provides coaching and guidance to champions during change implementation.
  • Provides on-site support to regional office staff during change initiatives.
  • Provide leadership to Regional staff (Client Manager/Parole Officers and Program Managers)
  • Analyze, recommend, and oversee implementation of modifications and improvements to the Client Management and Parole systems to align with evidence-based and best practices.
  • Create and facilitate Champion committees and subcommittee meetings.
  • Analyze, review, consolidate and streamline Division policy governing the Client Management and Parole systems
  • Develop new Division policy and procedure in the Client Management and Parole systems where procedures have not previously existed.
  • Continually assess procedures to ensure consistent Statewide Client Management and Parole Practice.
  • Other duties that may arise during the course of day-to-day operations.
  • Supports Regional leadership directives and initiatives
  • Work within Trails Mod for case management
  • Provides flexible support to regional staff with supervision of youth on parole.
