About The Position

Under the direction of the VP of Nursing & Clinical Operations, the Regional Nurse Manager – Region 1 Health Centers provides clinical and operational leadership across assigned Aunt Martha’s health center locations, including Rockford, Carpentersville, Humboldt Park, Woodstock, Aurora Ogden, and Aurora HOC. This position may be based out of one health center within Region 1; however, the Regional Nurse Manager will be expected to travel to other health centers within the region as needed. Approximately 50% travel is expected based on clinic needs, staffing support, audits, site visits, training, and operational priorities. This role is responsible for overseeing nursing operations, supporting high-quality patient care, ensuring regulatory compliance, improving clinical outcomes, and developing clinical staff. The Regional Nurse Manager works closely with providers, clinic leadership, nursing teams, and administrative staff to support consistent clinical workflows, patient satisfaction, quality initiatives, and organizational goals.

Requirements

  • Current Registered Nurse license in good standing in the State of Illinois required.
  • Minimum of 3–5 years of nursing leadership or supervisory experience required.
  • Current CPR certification required.
  • Current driver’s license required.
  • Current auto insurance required.
  • Ability to work primarily out of one assigned health center within Region 1 while traveling to other regional health centers as needed.
  • Ability to travel approximately 50% of the time within the assigned region.
  • Ability to work late evening hours, some weekend hours, and some holidays based on program needs.
  • Ability to work at other clinics as needed.
  • Strong clinical leadership and staff development skills.
  • Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to support multiple locations, competing priorities, and changing operational needs.
  • Strong understanding of patient care standards, infection control, safety, and compliance requirements.
  • Ability to review data, identify trends, and support quality improvement efforts.
  • Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and follow-through.
  • Ability to build effective working relationships with clinical staff, providers, leadership, patients, and community partners.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred.
  • Experience managing multiple clinic sites or healthcare programs preferred.
  • Experience in ambulatory care, population health, quality improvement, or regulatory compliance strongly preferred.
  • Experience with electronic health records and healthcare quality metrics preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership and oversight for nursing operations across clinics within the assigned region.
  • Supervise, mentor, and support nursing staff, including Registered Nurses, Licensed Practical Nurses, Medical Assistants, and other clinical team members.
  • Monitor staffing levels and coordinate schedules to ensure appropriate patient coverage and efficient clinic operations.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, local, and organizational policies, including infection prevention and patient safety standards.
  • Support the implementation and monitoring of clinical quality measures, including HEDIS, UDS, value-based care, and patient satisfaction initiatives.
  • Conduct routine site visits, audits, and performance evaluations to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Assist with the development and implementation of clinical workflows, policies, procedures, and best practices.
  • Collaborate with providers and leadership teams to improve patient care delivery and operational efficiency.
  • Support staff onboarding, orientation, training, coaching, and competency assessments.
  • Participate in quality improvement activities, risk management, and corrective action planning as needed.
  • Review and address patient complaints, incident reports, and clinical concerns in a timely manner.
  • Monitor clinical documentation and ensure accurate and timely completion within the electronic health record.
  • Assist with budget management, supply oversight, and resource allocation for assigned locations.
  • Serve as a liaison between regional leadership and clinic staff to ensure consistent communication and expectations.
  • Support emergency preparedness and response activities.
  • Travel to assigned clinic locations as needed.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
