About The Position

This position is responsible for facilitating the clinical capabilities, quality and educational outcomes at each assigned health center. In addition, monitoring and managing clinical competence and clinical capabilities through mentoring administrators on managing nursing resources; mentoring Directors of Nursing on direct management of staff; implementing corporate clinical standards and auditing and reporting systems and tools; administering and implementing clinical training programs.

Requirements

  • Must possess a Nursing Degree (RN) from an accredited college, university or nursing school.
  • At least 3 years of experience as Director of Nursing (DON) in a long-term care facility.
  • Multi-site experience.
  • A current, unencumbered, active license to practice as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the state of Georgia (or Compact License from another state).
  • Ability to read, write, speak and understand the English language.
  • Willingness to travel overnight (moderate to frequent).
  • Ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action.
  • Ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agency personnel, and the general public.
  • Knowledgeable of nursing and medical practices and procedures, as well as laws, regulations, and guidelines that pertain to long-term care.
  • Leadership and supervisory ability and the willingness to work harmoniously with and supervise others.
  • Ability to plan, organize, develop, implement, and interpret the programs, goals, objectives, policies and procedures, etc. that are necessary for providing quality care.
  • Patience, tact, a cheerful disposition and enthusiasm, as well as the willingness to handle difficult residents.
  • Willingness to seek out new methods and principles and incorporate them into existing nursing practices.
  • Ability to relate information concerning a resident's condition.
