About The Position

This position will be approximately 80% clinical patient care and 20% leadership and administrative duties. This role is open to both internal medicine and family medicine providers and an appropriate patient panel will be created. Specific duties of the role include, but are not limited to: - provide leadership to the clinical staff at one or more Manhattan office locations - supervise nurse practitioners, physician assistants, and other clinical providers - partner with senior leadership on clinical protocols, policies, etc. - review patient histories and perform physical examinations - evaluate, diagnose and provide appropriate treatment and patient care - refer patients to specialists as needed - provide quality clinical diagnostic skills in the delivery of patient care - review test results and recommend suitable management for patients - prescribe medications as needed - formulate ongoing treatment and disease management plans - provide relationship-centered care, taking into account psychosocial and physical needs - communicate with the clinical team to ensure total delivery of quality care - participate in medical staff educational programs and meetings Physicians see an average of 22 to 23 patients per day with the support of dedicated clinical assistants and administrative team members. This number will be adjusted to accommodate 20% of work hours being dedicated to administrative time. The practice uses the Epic EHR.

Requirements

  • New York medical license
  • DEA
  • Board Certification or Eligibility, Family Medicine or Internal Medicine
  • 10+ years outpatient primary care experience
  • previous leadership experience strongly preferred
