Provide support and training to MDS Coordinators to ensure proper assessment and treatment of residents in nursing homes, in accordance with state and federal standards. Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) or equivalent Accredited Nursing Program Degree.
  • Ability to read technical procedures and policy manuals.
  • Effectively present information and respond to questions from leadership and employees.
  • Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and interpret a variety of instructions.
  • Professional License must remain active and in good standing at all times with the State Board of Nursing.
  • Proficient in the Microsoft Suite products.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct monthly Regional MDS meetings for training and CMI development.
  • Assist facilities with their clinical, MDS, dietary, social services, and regulatory policies and related education.
  • Monitor and assist with RAC audits received from Insurance, State, or CMS.
  • Develop regional tracking and trending reports for clinical metrics regarding CMS 5-star rating.
  • Assist facilities in improving 5-star rating in all categories.
  • Provide oversight and direction to the MDS department.
  • Conduct visits to facilities to assess and train clinical staff.
  • Create action plans as needed to facilitate growth and development.
  • Attend regional meetings and provide clinical insight as requested by the RVP.
  • Assist facilities in their clinical risk management efforts.
  • Assist facility defense attorneys as needed with lawsuits, depositions, reports, and document production.
  • Provide oversight and direction to the MDS department and assist with the overall supervision and management of regional MDS staff.
