Regional Marketplace Manager-Western Region

ABC Legal Services•California, Arizona, Washington, Colorado, Utah, Nevada, Oregon, US Remote, NV
•$70,000 - $85,000•Remote

About The Position

The Regional Marketplace Manager owns ABC Legal Services’ major Western markets across California, Arizona, Washington, Colorado, Utah, Nevada, and Oregon. The role is accountable for regional KPIs and marketplace health, including balancing supply and demand, identifying coverage gaps, recruiting process servers, managing dispatch strategies, and increasing server capacity. It requires proactively identifying and diagnosing performance problems using collected data and on-the-ground judgment, and maintaining relationships with the region’s highest-volume servers as ABC Legal’s in-market representative. The manager responds to regional incidents, executes marketplace pilots with project managers, manages regional incentive spending within an allocated budget, and reports on regional SLO attainment, coverage-gap closure, and market health. The role directly manages W2 employees, including time-card approval and performance reviews, and feeds structured market learnings back to teams so successful improvements can be refined and scaled. This is a builder role that combines strategy and execution. It is remote, but the employee must live in one of the listed Western states and be willing to work on the ground in the market. Travel is approximately 20%.

Requirements

  • Experience owning a local market, territory, or region in a marketplace, gig, or field operations environment, including experience in an underperforming market.
  • Ability to balance supply and demand using both personally collected data and on-the-ground observations.
  • Experience managing W2 employees, including approving time cards and completing performance reviews.
  • At least one direct report and specific experience coaching that person.
  • Experience coaching someone to higher performance in a frontline or contract role.
  • Comfort working with project managers to scope and execute in-market initiatives.
  • Willingness and desire to work on the ground in the market; this is not a remote strategy-only role.
  • Ability to turn in-market observations into clear, actionable feedback for strategy teams.
  • Ability to communicate market health clearly, including through written updates.
  • Must be located in California, Arizona, Washington, Colorado, Utah, Nevada, or Oregon.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience running structured pilots or tests with clear hypotheses and sharing learnings that were scaled.
  • SQL or dashboard fluency, including tools such as Metabase, Looker, or Claude Code.
  • Familiarity with Jira or a similar tracker for scoping and following pilots through completion.
  • Familiarity with Intercom or a similar platform for network-facing communication.
  • Experience building in ambiguous environments where a playbook did not yet exist.
  • Experience managing someone in a contract or hourly role and understanding how coaching differs.

Responsibilities

  • Balance supply and demand across Western regions by identifying coverage gaps, recruiting process servers, managing dispatch strategies, and increasing server capacity.
  • Identify areas of declining market performance and diagnose root causes before they appear on scorecards.
  • Maintain relationships with the region’s highest-volume servers and represent ABC Legal in-market.
  • Conduct root cause analysis and provide clear recommendations for next steps.
  • Lead regional incident response, translating on-the-ground developments into timely guidance for the network and leadership.
  • Execute marketplace pilots, track in-market results, and report findings in coordination with project managers.
  • Manage regional incentive spending within the allocated budget and flag programs that are exceeding planned spend.
  • Monitor and report regional SLO attainment by tier, coverage-gap closure, and market health.
  • Directly manage W2 employees, including approving time cards and completing performance reviews.
  • Provide structured learnings to improve and scale incentive programs, dispatch rules, and pay mechanics across other markets.
  • Communicate market health through clear written updates and actionable feedback to strategy teams.
