About The Position

Pavement Maintenance Group is seeking a Regional Manufacturing Operations Manager to strengthen its Texas operation, which includes one manufacturing plant and two store facilities. This is a hands-on, plant-facing leadership role where the manager will spend significant time on the production floor and in stores, developing local leaders, investigating equipment and process issues, and helping teams advance their work. The role requires a leader who can learn current operational methods, preserve existing knowledge, and translate it into practical, repeatable processes. The manager will collaborate with local management, maintenance teams, Human Resources, senior leadership, and leaders in other regions to enhance safety, training, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Job Safety Analyses (JSAs), equipment reliability, accountability, and operational consistency.

Requirements

  • Progressive leadership experience in manufacturing, industrial production, construction materials, distribution, or a similarly hands-on environment.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude is critical.
  • Willingness to inspect equipment, ask technically useful questions, help diagnose problems, and work directly with maintenance personnel.
  • Curious, adaptable, organized leader who can build structure without creating unnecessary bureaucracy.
  • Willingness to get dirty, listen before changing processes, make timely decisions, coach with patience, and hold teams to a clear standard.
  • Willingness to steer the operation and also to perform hands-on work ('row').

Responsibilities

  • Provide hands-on leadership across the Texas manufacturing plant and store locations.
  • Coach, mentor, and develop plant managers, supervisors, leads, and frontline employees.
  • Understand production flow, staffing, quality, inventory, material movement, maintenance, shipping and receiving, and customer needs.
  • Identify gaps and build practical SOPs, JSAs, training programs, maintenance practices, and accountability systems.
  • Partner with maintenance teams and vendors on preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, and equipment uptime.
  • Monitor performance related to safety, quality, productivity, labor, inventory, waste, and on-time execution.
  • Lead through visible safety practices, hazard recognition, PPE compliance, incident follow-up, and consistent accountability.
  • Maintain ownership and follow-through when equipment issues, employee matters, customer needs, and improvement projects compete for attention.
