Regional Manager

PRECEPT BRANDS LLCBoston, MA

About The Position

We are a Pacific Northwest-based wine and spirits producer with a growing national footprint and a portfolio spanning multiple brands, price points, and channels. Our Northeast territory is a high-priority growth market, and we are looking for a motivated, market-savvy Regional Manager to own our business across Massachusetts, Rhode Island, and Connecticut. This is a hands-on role with dual responsibility: managing distributor relationships at all levels and executing in-market work across on- and off-premise accounts. The right candidate will be deeply embedded in the trade, owning day-to-day territory activity while working closely with the Northeast Director to drive volume, distribution, and brand presence.

Requirements

  • 3 to 5+ years of wine and/or spirits industry experience on the supplier or distributor side
  • Demonstrated success managing distributor relationships and delivering results against depletion and distribution goals
  • Established market knowledge and account relationships in at least one of the three states (MA, RI, or CT)
  • Strong analytical skills — ability to read depletion data, identify trends, and translate insights into a clear action plan
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills at all levels of the trade and distributor organization
  • High degree of self-motivation and discipline
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint
  • Valid driver’s license, clean driving record, and reliable transportation
  • Must reside in Massachusetts
  • Must be 21 years of age or older

Nice To Haves

  • Existing relationships with key distributor partners in Massachusetts, Rhode Island, and/or Connecticut
  • Experience working across both on- and off-premise channels with demonstrated chain account success
  • WSET Level 2 or higher, Court of Master Sommeliers, or equivalent wine education
  • Experience managing incentive programs and tracking ROI against program spend
  • Familiarity with depletion reporting tools (VIP, iDig, Diver, or similar)

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary day-to-day point of contact for all distributor partners across Massachusetts, Rhode Island, and Connecticut
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with distributor leadership, sales managers, and rep-level teams
  • Conduct regular distributor business reviews — ongoing check-ins and formal monthly/quarterly meetings with key contacts
  • Own depletion tracking and hold distributor partners accountable to agreed-upon volume and POD goals by brand
  • Develop and manage incentive programs and programming calendars in coordination with the Northeast Director
  • Review and analyze shipment vs. depletion reports to identify gaps, inventory risks, and growth opportunities; bring forward corrective action as needed
  • Attend and present at distributor sales meetings; deliver brand education and portfolio training to distributor reps
  • Negotiate and secure shelf space, display placement, and feature activity in partnership with distributor teams
  • Track and report on program execution at the account and distributor level
  • Work the market a minimum of 3 days per week — conducting ride-alongs with distributor reps, calling on key accounts independently, and executing blitz activity
  • Develop and maintain a prioritized target account list for on- and off-premise across the three-state territory
  • Open new points of distribution (nPODs) against agreed-upon brand priorities and report progress against goals
  • Build direct relationships with key buyers, owners, and category managers at high-volume on- and off-premise accounts
  • Support the growth of national and regional chain business within the territory, working in coordination with the Northeast Director and internal chain strategy
  • Execute staff trainings, in-store tastings, and wine dinners to drive brand awareness and velocity at the account level
  • Maintain awareness of competitive activity and market trends; surface relevant intelligence to the Northeast Director regularly
  • Represent the company at trade events, portfolio tastings, and wine competitions in the region
  • Maintain regular communication with the Northeast Director regarding market activity, distributor needs, and account-level developments
  • Surface pricing needs and market feedback to the Northeast Director; pricing decisions and changes are owned at the Director level
  • Manage T&E budget responsibly and in accordance with company policy; submit expenses weekly
  • Assist the Northeast Director in preparation for national sales meetings, regional business reviews, and supplier market visits
  • Communicate proactively on inventory issues and programming updates affecting the territory
