Requirements

  • 5+ years of general maintenance and 2+ years of direct supervisory experience.
  • Experience in affordable housing and a strong understanding of HUD-REAC / NSPIRE inspections are essential requirements for this role.
  • Strong hands-on skills in HVAC, plumbing, carpentry, painting, and electrical/appliance repairs.
  • Strong leadership presence.
  • 100% of the time will be working on properties.
  • Ability to travel overnight up to 75% based on location of geographically disbursed properties.
  • Ability to travel, stay overnight in hotels, and submit travel expenses for reimbursement.
  • Availability to work outside of standard business hours, as required to meet operational needs and project deadlines.
  • Ability to effectively collaborate and partner with other departments, including Operation Team Members, Facilities Team, Regional Property Managers (RPMs), Vice Presidents, and Executive leadership teams to support operational goals and company initiatives
  • Ability to support and oversee maintenance work order operations and reporting through platforms such as Yardi and RealPage, including dashboard monitoring, workflow management, and operational tracking.
  • Ability to lift and move up to 50 lbs.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; certification (i.e. CAMT, OSHA, HVAC, CPO, etc.) in a related trade preferred.
  • Dedicated to exceeding expectations, leading by example, and by providing exceptional service.

  • Bilingual Spanish is a plus.

  • Multisite, multifamily apartment management experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and participate in REAC / NSPIRE inspection preparation including working with the Regional Facility Manager, site staff, and vendor resources.
  • Guide and support our sites in completing repairs for preparation of HUD REAC / NSPIRE inspections in a timely manner to NSPIRE standards. Work side by side with the site staff and other maintenance personnel by completing carpentry, plumbing, electrical, painting, and other small repairs.
  • Support short-staffed sites by completing work orders, annual inspection repairs, and job duties of a Maintenance Supervisor.
  • Complete special projects assigned by assigned Regional Facilities Manager
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
