About The Position

The School of Social Work at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill seeks three Regional Liaisons for the Public Service Leadership Program (PSLP), funded by the “The Workforce is Here” grant program. The initiative will develop and offer a statewide, three-tiered public service certificate for pre-service students at the high school, community college, undergraduate, and master’s levels, as well as in-service practitioners in public sector social work settings. The certificates aim to encourage public sector careers and help current practitioners progress in their careers by building competencies and earning credentials. Program features include foundational instruction, tuition-free credentials, an emphasis on direct service, content focused on North Carolina’s critical service delivery areas, virtual delivery, and co-instruction by university faculty, agency professionals, and people with lived experience. These are time-limited positions for one year; any extension depends on available funding. Two Regional Liaisons will be situated in eastern North Carolina and one in central North Carolina. Each will report to the Assistant Dean for Workforce Development and serve as the primary contact for enrolled PSLP participants in their assigned region. The liaisons will support admissions and recruitment, curriculum and academic program evaluation, and resilience and well-being support for prospective pre-service and in-service participants across all program levels. They will collect and track participant admissions data, program learning data, and engagement in in-person, virtual, and asynchronous learning activities. They will also help develop marketing materials, facilitate information sessions, and coordinate and support in-person training, conferences, and outreach events. Candidates must live within commuting distance of at least one coalition partner campus in their region and be willing to support other coalition partner schools and programs.
