About The Position

Kanning Dental and Village Dental are seeking a Regional Hygiene Program Director to oversee four locations across the Kansas City metro area. This role is designed for a hygienist who sees the profession as the front line of patient health and a trusted relationship within a practice. The ideal candidate will be a natural mentor, passionate about elevating the hygiene profession, developing clinicians, and building a healthy, profitable department. Requirements

  • Active Missouri RDH license
  • 5+ years of clinical excellence, including mastery of perio diagnosis, SRP, and patient communication that builds trust
  • Proven ability to mentor and lift other clinicians
  • Understanding of the connection between clinical behavior and financial health
  • Multi-provider or multi-location experience
  • Comfort with practice management software (Open Dental preferred)
  • Lead by credibility, give truth with kindness, and measure success by the growth of others

  • Prior leadership, lead hygienist, or coordinator experience

Responsibilities

  • Define and elevate exceptional hygiene standards, including clinical standards, accurate diagnosis, periodontal care, and patient-specific preventive treatment.
  • Mentor and develop hygienists across four locations, providing shoulder-to-shoulder coaching, honest feedback, and individualized development plans.
  • Build and manage a healthy, profitable hygiene department by focusing on clinical quality and integrity.
  • Establish and maintain a consistent culture of care across all locations, ensuring diagnosis drives coding and principled, not rigid, standards.
  • Model the hygiene standard at the chair in the first year to build trust with the team.
  • Participate in leadership activities including developing and recruiting hygienists and calibrating standards.
  • Transition to a full-time leadership role over time, with compensation that grows with the department.
