About The Position

Serve as the primary Human Resources partner for the Canadian business, overseeing the full employee lifecycle and ensuring the delivery of high-quality HR support. Partner with executive leadership across North America to develop and execute strategic HR initiatives that align with business objectives and long-term organizational growth. Lead organizational development initiatives, including workforce planning, succession planning, leadership development, talent reviews, and change management programs. Coach and advise leaders on employee relations, performance management, organizational design, talent development, and complex people matters. Conduct workplace investigations and support the resolution of employee relations matters while ensuring compliance with employment legislation and company policies. Lead annual compensation planning initiatives, including salary reviews, bonus planning, and organizational workforce planning. Oversee Canadian employee benefits administration while supporting annual benefit plan renewals with external providers. Manage employee lifecycle activities within ADP and Workday, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and data integrity. Develop and maintain employment documentation, including offer letters, promotions, employment agreements, policy updates, job descriptions, and separation documentation. Monitor employee contracts, work permits, leaves of absence, and employment compliance requirements. Analyze workforce metrics, employee engagement, turnover trends, and organizational data to identify opportunities for continuous improvement. Review and maintain HR policies, procedures, and employee handbooks to ensure compliance with Canadian employment legislation and evolving business needs. Partner with the Regional HR team to support strategic HR initiatives across the United States while collaborating with local HR resources on implementation. Support international assignments, employee relocations, and cross-border HR initiatives in accordance with company policies. Serve as a trusted advisor to leaders by challenging existing practices, identifying opportunities for improvement, and driving organizational effectiveness. Support payroll continuity, HR vendor management, departmental administration, and additional HR projects as required. Identify and implement process improvements that enhance operational efficiency and the overall employee experience.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field
  • 5+ years of progressive Human Resources experience, including strategic HR partnership and employee relations responsibilities.
  • Demonstrated experience leading strategic HR initiatives such as organizational development, workforce planning, succession planning, leadership coaching, performance management, or change management.
  • Proven ability to partner with senior leaders and influence business decisions through strategic people solutions.
  • Strong knowledge of Canadian employment legislation and HR best practices
  • Experience supporting organizational growth, business transformation, or change management initiatives.
  • Experience utilizing Workday HRIS, ADP, or similar HR systems for employee lifecycle management, reporting, and HR administration.
  • Demonstrated success leading HR projects and implementing process improvements that drive operational excellence.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, with the ability to interpret workforce data and provide meaningful business recommendations.
  • Excellent communication, relationship-building, and stakeholder management skills, with the confidence to influence leaders at all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to balance strategic priorities with hands-on operational responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.

Nice To Haves

  • CHRP or CHRL designation is considered an asset.
  • Experience within logistics, transportation, supply chain, distribution, or warehousing is considered an asset.
  • Exposure to multi-jurisdictional or North American HR environments is considered an asset.
