Air Liquide is hiring for a Regional HSES Manager in Houston, TX! We are looking for you! Join our dynamic team at Air Liquide as a Region HSES Manager where you are responsible for ensuring the consistent application of the E&C Houston center’s HSES Management System for all projects under construction, through startup and commissioning. The position will liaise and communicate directly with field HSES managers and Construction Site Managers helping to train and support them in applying E&C Houston center's HSES procedures and processes as well as applicable Global E&C HSES requirements. The Regional HSES manager will also support the development, revision, and maintenance of the HSES processes, procedures, forms, and training as directed by the E&C Houston Snr Director HSESQ-PR.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in occupational safety and health / environmental sciences / engineering or a related technical field.
  • 30-hour OSHA training for construction required (or ability to obtain within 3 months of hire)
  • 7 to 10 years of experience in HSE management and oversight with focus on construction safety requirements.
  • At least 2 years should be in an HSE supervisory capacity.
  • Thorough knowledge of the types of risks associated with heavy construction work (working at height, confined space entry, control of hazardous energy, excavations, cranes and rigging)
  • Understanding of the different types of hazards in industrial and construction settings, including those related to human and organizational factors
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the U.S. OSHA standards under 29 CFR 1926 and 1910 and the practical application of their requirement in construction/industrial settings.
  • Ability to lead and work in multidisciplinary teams.
  • Ability to help identify, document and implement best practices.
  • Ability to influence both Air Liquide and customer decision-makers.
  • Computer skills preferably with Google suite of applications (Gmail, Docs, Sheets, Slides etc.)
  • Excellent written and spoken communication skills in English.

Nice To Haves

  • Additional professional training (OSHA #510 “OSHA Standards for the Construction Industry” and valid OSHA #500 “Trainer Course for Construction”) desired
  • Professional certifications in occupational safety and health or related fields (CSP, CIH, CHST, CSMC) desired
  • Bilingual Spanish is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and/or steward safety programs, claims management, and compliance with government regulatory agencies and corporate operating procedures.
  • Guide and coordinate the execution of safety and corporate loss control initiatives at multi-site locations.
  • Help ensure that procedures, rules and local standards are applied.
  • In some geographies Industrial Risk and Process Safety are included as part of this job profile.
  • Champions EHS promotion and communication activities including but not limited to safety talks, recognition events and achievement celebrations.
  • Develop initiatives to process changes and foster shared commitment for supporting and executing environment, health, and safety.
