About The Position

Manages organizational HSE and compliance with local, state, and federal health, safety, and environmental regulations in Area of Responsibility (AOR). Partners with Sr. Operations to implement regional HSE initiatives by providing technical assistance in the identification, evaluation, and control of workplace hazards. This role is used within the Functional HSE team and may have direct line or dotted line reporting of the Campus and Field Safety Manager and Supervisors. The role involves monitoring and evaluating sites in the AOR to ensure compliance with regulatory and company requirements, ensuring the HSE agenda is included and aligned with Regional initiatives, and communicating and providing guidance to Regional operations leadership and staff. It also includes implementing standard HSE support offerings using common tools and training, managing reporting and KPIs of operations in AOR, assisting with the Claims Management process for injuries in AOR, and monitoring and providing expertise on the Logics Incident Module as a Super User. The role contributes to the Budget Process, manages, mentors, and develops Campus Safety Managers and Field Safety Personnel, performs Compliance Audits, and ensures Corrective actions are identified, implemented, and effective. Additionally, it involves coaching Senior Operations Personnel on proactive safety measures and visible safety leadership, identifying SIP Locations in AOR and partnering to implement improvements, supporting Business Continuity Management in AOR, managing Start-Ups in AOR, providing Subject Matter Expertise to the Program Management team when necessary, serving as the primary contact for Critical Near Calls and Regulatory Agencies, and identifying improvement opportunities to support the continuous improvement process.

Requirements

  • Bachelor‘s degree in environmental, safety, industrial hygiene or related field, required
  • 5+ years of experience managing HSE in an operational or functional support role, required

Nice To Haves

  • 1+ years of warehouse/distribution/logistics experience, preferred
  • Industrial Hygiene (CIH), preferred
  • Certified Safety Professional (CSP), preferred
  • Certified Hazardous Material Manager (CHMM), preferred
  • Certified Director of Safety (CDS) or Safety Supervisor (CSS), preferred
