The Administrative Office of the Courts (AOC) is seeking mission-driven professionals for the Guardianship Monitoring Support Initiative as a Regional Guardianship Consultant (RGC). This role operates at a professional level, requiring minimal supervision and independent judgment. The RGC acts as a regional liaison and primary consultant for assigned superior courts, offering guidance, operational support, and expertise in all aspects of adult guardianship. In collaboration with court leaders and staff, the consultant will identify needs, solve problems, implement program recommendations, and navigate complex guardianship processes. The RGC will also contribute to program development and management by assessing regional trends, supporting statewide standards, creating resources and tools, and assisting in program performance monitoring. This role aims to enhance consistency, quality, and accessibility of guardianship practices statewide. The RGC must demonstrate strong leadership, initiative, sound judgment, effective communication, and the ability to influence positive change in diverse environments. By building collaborative relationships and guiding courts without direct authority, the consultant fosters trust, promotes best practices, and helps courts develop sustainable local capacity. The role involves navigating differing communication styles, engagement levels, and resistance with professionalism and tact to ensure progress. The RGC exhibits strategic leadership through data-informed insights, long-term planning, and proactive problem-solving to strengthen guardianship operations across multiple counties. The consultant leads through influence by cultivating partnerships, aligning local efforts with statewide priorities, and guiding courts through change with clarity and confidence, anticipating emerging needs and coordinating priorities for improved daily processes and long-term outcomes. This role offers a unique opportunity to make a meaningful impact across multiple counties by enhancing guardianship practices, elevating statewide consistency, and helping judges and court staff better serve Washington’s communities.
