About The Position

Amerit Fleet Solutions is seeking an experienced, inspired, and mission-driven Regional Fleet Manager to oversee a field team of approximately 50 remote professionals, including market-based Fleet Managers and field technicians across about 25 locations. This role is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Midwest Region (Indiana, Michigan, Ohio, and Western Pennsylvania), ensuring accountability for internal and external KPIs, safety, turnover, quality of work, technician utilization, and inventory management. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in field-based operations and maintenance/fleet management, with a preference for experience in automotive and diesel repairs servicing a large fleet of light, medium, and heavy-duty equipment (gas, electric, and diesel-powered vehicles). Experience in process improvement, operational best practices, and financial efficiency is also desired. This is a remote-based position requiring regular travel.

Requirements

  • Ten+ years of relevant experience in managing large fleets and maintenance.
  • Strong communicator with the ability to influence, persuade, and drive action.
  • Demonstrated ability to set expectations, hold team members accountable, and use performance management methods.
  • Ability to receive feedback (customer surveys, KPI results, executive guidance) and implement program changes quickly.
  • Great communication and data skills including Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Proven experience in management for operations, planning, maintenance, and customer service.
  • A business-focused way of thinking and a strong hands-on, results-driven mentality combined with a high desire to work strategically.
  • Responsive, creative, resilient, resourceful.
  • Must pass a background check.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the Midwest Region, ensuring accountability for internal and external KPIs, safety, turnover, quality of work, technician utilization, and inventory management.
  • Focus on Safety, health, environmental compliance, and quality of work, ensuring compliance in HazRep submittal and review, environmental/quality of work audits, and safety trainings.
  • Manage the team to minimize turnover and build a strong segment culture, growing and improving team member performance.
  • Monitor technician sentiment to ensure minimal turnover.
  • Ensure processes are defined and followed within the team, setting goals and holding individuals accountable.
  • Achieve regional Billability (technician utilization) targets, including meeting minimal billable hour requirements to satisfy P&L targets.
  • Perform capacity planning, making recommendations for adding field and corporate roles to meet operational and client needs.
  • Achieve Time to Repair and Throughput targets for all onsite mobile maintenance services.
  • Ensure incoming Repair Orders are prioritized, completed, and invoiced according to client and business needs.
