The Regional Financial Controller will supervise and manage the accounting department personnel and maintain general ledgers for all Rhode Island properties, including sportsbook and I gaming operations. This role oversees the monthly close process, aids in the preparation of monthly financial statements, and prepares quarterly reporting packages for corporate. The position is responsible for overseeing collections of inter-track settlements, maintaining contract files, balancing monthly cash accounts, reconciling all balance sheet accounts, and analyzing various monthly general ledger accounts. Additionally, the controller prepares and maintains monthly Sales Tax reports and is responsible for all remittances to the Rhode Island Lottery and federal and state remittances to the Department of Treasury and State of Rhode Island, respectively. The role also handles submissions of marketing reimbursement packages to the Rhode Island Lottery, maintains accounting policies and procedures, and coordinates with shared services for accounting processes handled by Corporate, including payroll, fixed assets, leases, and income taxes. Yearly filing of IRS reports (W2G, 1099’s, and 1042’s) is also a key responsibility, along with backing up daily cash reporting and wire transfers. The position reconciles Keno reports for reimbursement of bankroll, backs up database maintenance of tote information, and handles all audits of Pension plans for various unions.
