About The Position

The Regional Financial Controller will supervise and manage the accounting department personnel. This role is responsible for maintaining general ledgers for all Rhode Island properties, including sportsbook and I gaming operations. The position oversees the monthly close process, aids in the preparation of monthly financial statements, and prepares quarterly reporting packages for corporate. Additionally, the controller will oversee collections of inter-track settlements, maintain contract files, balance monthly cash accounts, and reconcile all balance sheet accounts. The role involves analyzing various monthly general ledger accounts, preparing and maintaining monthly Sales Tax reports, and being responsible for all remittances to the Rhode Island Lottery, the Department of Treasury, and the State of Rhode Island. Submissions of marketing reimbursement packages to the Rhode Island Lottery are also a key responsibility. The position is responsible for maintaining accounting policies and procedures and coordinating with shared services for accounting processes handled by Corporate, including payroll, fixed assets, leases, and income taxes. Yearly filing of IRS reports (W2G, 1099’s, and 1042’s) is required. This role also serves as backup for daily cash reporting, wire transfers, and database maintenance of tote information. The controller will reconcile Keno reports for reimbursement of bankroll and handle all audits of Pension plans for various unions. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
  • Strong understanding of GAAP.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.

Nice To Haves

  • CPA or CMA certification.
  • Experience in the gaming or hospitality industry.
  • Experience with I gaming and sportsbook accounting.

Responsibilities
