About The Position

Concerned Veterans for America (CVA) is seeking a Regional Field Manager for their Iowa team. This role involves identifying, recruiting, and engaging grassroots leaders in Iowa to mobilize them for action and drive policy reforms. The position focuses on empowering veterans to become advocates for change, connecting them with CVA resources, organizing public engagement events, and maintaining regular contact with activists. The manager will also oversee part-time canvassing contractors.

Self-motivation, always looking for the best way to use your time to accomplish objectives.
Organization skills and the ability to keep multiple events and activities on track for yourself and the people you engage to help you.
Works well with a team of people, including CVA and AFP staff and activists you engage.
Excitement to canvass neighborhoods and make phone calls for CVA priority initiatives and CVA Action endorsed candidates, as well as motivate and coordinate volunteers to do the same.
A valid driver's license to be able to travel as needed to meet with people in your area and across the state, as needed.
Willingness to work a flexible and changing work schedule, including evenings and weekends as needed.

Nice To Haves

Experience in grassroots advocacy, community organization, and/or political campaigns.
Volunteer or staff supervisory experience.

Responsibilities

Identify activists in various parts of the state who are currently – or could become – leaders in their local communities, as elected officials or citizen organizers and motivate them to advocate for change.
Equip these local leaders to advocate for changes that are consistent with principles CVA believes in by connecting them to the training and other resources of CVA.
Organize events where you and other activists can engage the public through phone calls, social media, and face-to-face neighborhood outreach.
Innovate by creating fun or unique ways to reach people to educate them on public policy issues and initiatives.
Ensure that CVA stays in regular contact with our activists to keep them motivated, educated, and active.
Manage part-time canvassing contractors including but not limited to time management, compliance with laws and regulations, and best practices.
