About The Position

Babilou Family US, part of the global Babilou Family network, is seeking a proactive, hands-on Facilities Technician to maintain safe, clean, and welcoming environments in their early childhood education centers. The goal is to ensure schools are safe, code-compliant, and licensing-ready, while delivering timely preventative maintenance and repairs to minimize disruption. The technician will build strong relationships with school leadership, vendors, and internal teams, acting as a reliable facilities partner and maintaining buildings and outdoor areas that reflect the company's standards and values.

Requirements

High School diploma or equivalent.
Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
Ability to pass required background and fingerprint checks.
Basic proficiency using smartphones, tablets, or laptops for work orders and communication.
Ability to stand 75% of the day, lift 50 lbs., twist, lift, carry, push, and pull.
Ability to kneel, bend, climb ladders, and stand or walk for extended periods.
Work performed indoors and outdoors, year-round, in varying weather conditions.
Frequent interactions with children, families, teachers, and other staff in an active school environment.
Compliance with state childcare facility standards.
Adherence to safety, OSHA, and sanitation protocols.
Ability to work overtime in rotation.

Responsibilities

Perform preventative maintenance and general repairs across multiple school locations, including HVAC filter changes, basic electrical, plumbing, carpentry, drywall, painting, flooring, playground equipment, fencing, and landscaping.
Respond promptly and effectively to facility service requests, urgent issues, and emergencies.
Conduct routine safety, health, and building condition checks; proactively identify and address potential issues before they escalate.
Maintain accurate Property Condition Reports, work orders, and documentation using company-approved systems.
Communicate clearly and professionally with school leadership regarding repairs, timelines, and recommendations.
Support small capital projects, improvements, and seasonal preparation.
Represent the Facilities team with professionalism, accountability, and a service-oriented mindset.
Other job-related duties as assigned.
