About The Position

Mitsubishi Chemical is seeking an experienced Regional Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Manager to lead and strengthen our safety culture across four PPD manufacturing facilities and one additional site in Covington, GA. This is a highly visible leadership role that partners closely with plant leadership to protect our employees, ensure regulatory compliance, and drive continuous improvement across the region. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental, Health & Safety, Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related field with 3+ years of relevant EHS experience, OR 8+ years of directly related Environmental, Health & Safety experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to travel up to 50% to support EHS initiatives, conduct site visits, lead investigations, and partner with leadership across assigned facilities.
  • Experience supporting manufacturing or industrial operations with responsibility for OSHA compliance and environmental, health, and safety programs.
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations, incident investigations, root cause analysis, and regulatory compliance.
  • Experience developing and implementing EHS policies, procedures, and employee training programs.
  • Proven ability to influence leaders at all organizational levels and promote a strong safety culture.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

  • Experience supporting multiple manufacturing facilities or regional operations is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead Environmental, Health & Safety programs across multiple manufacturing facilities.
  • Serve as the regional subject matter expert for OSHA compliance, environmental regulations, and corporate EHS standards.
  • Manage all safety incident reporting and lead incident investigations, root cause analyses, and corrective actions.
  • Develop, implement, and continuously improve EHS policies, procedures, and management systems.
  • Interpret regulatory requirements and advise leadership on compliance obligations and industry best practices.
  • Monitor workplace safety performance and develop strategies to reduce occupational hazards and injuries.
  • Oversee workers' compensation programs and coordinate with third-party administrators and medical providers.
  • Design, implement, and evaluate employee safety training programs, including behavioral-based safety initiatives.
  • Conduct EHS audits, inspections, and risk assessments while ensuring timely corrective actions.
  • Analyze EHS metrics and identify opportunities to improve safety performance and operational excellence.
  • Partner with plant leadership to build and sustain a proactive, employee-focused safety culture.
  • Stay current on changing environmental and safety regulations and ensure compliance across all assigned locations.
