About The Position

U.S. Facilities, Inc., a premier provider of building maintenance and infrastructure services, is seeking an experienced Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Manager to support operations in Tarrytown, NY, and Sleepy Hollow, NY. This is an excellent opportunity for an EHS professional who enjoys promoting a safety-first culture, partnering with operations and client leadership, and strengthening environmental, health, and safety programs across complex facility environments.

In this important role, you will lead, manage, and continuously improve EHS programs for assigned facilities, projects, or client locations. You will serve as the primary point of contact for safety-related matters, guide site leadership, employees, subcontractors, and vendors on safe work practices, and support compliance with applicable federal, state, local, client, and company requirements.

This position requires a hands-on, field-based leader who can identify hazards, support incident prevention, drive corrective actions, deliver effective safety communication and training, and maintain strong documentation and reporting practices. The EHS Manager will partner closely with Operations, Human Resources, Risk Management, and client representatives to reduce risk, strengthen compliance, and support safe, reliable facility operations.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in environmental health and safety, occupational safety, industrial hygiene, engineering, technical discipline, business management, or a related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Minimum of ten years of experience in safety management, environmental health and safety, or related safety roles.
• Experience supporting safety programs in facilities maintenance, manufacturing, construction, utilities, life sciences, GMP/cGMP, public sector, or similarly regulated environments.
• Working knowledge of OSHA requirements and other applicable federal, state, and local EHS regulations.
• Experience conducting safety inspections, audits, incident investigations, root cause analyses, and corrective action follow-up.
• Experience in developing and delivering employee safety training.
• Strong communication, documentation, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively with employees, supervisors, leadership, clients, vendors, and subcontractors.
• Ability to interpret regulations, policies, procedures, and client requirements and apply them to operational settings.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Nice To Haves

• OSHA 30-Hour certification.
• Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Associate Safety Professional (ASP), Certified Hazardous Materials Manager (CHMM), or similar safety-related certification.
• Experience in a cGMP, GxP, life sciences, pharmaceutical, biotech, R&D, healthcare, or other high-compliance environment.
• Experience with contractor safety management platforms, such as ISNetworld or similar systems.
• Experience supporting environmental compliance programs, including waste management, spill prevention, stormwater, air permits, or hazardous materials management.
• Experience using incident management, audit tracking, training management, or EHS software systems.
• Familiarity with CMMS or facility management systems.

Responsibilities

• Promote and support a safety-first culture across all assigned facilities, work areas, and project teams.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for environmental, health, and safety matters.
• Advise senior management and site leadership on EHS initiatives, compliance requirements, risk mitigation strategies, and safety trends.
• Develop, implement, and maintain EHS policies, procedures, programs, training materials, and site-specific safety plans.
• Conduct regular safety audits, inspections, job hazard analyses, and risk assessments to identify unsafe conditions, behaviors, or compliance gaps.
• Recommend and support corrective actions to reduce hazards, improve compliance, and prevent incidents.
• Investigate workplace incidents, injuries, property damage events, environmental releases, and near-miss events.
• Prepare clear, timely, and accurate incident reports, root cause analyses, corrective action plans, and follow-up documentation.
• Track corrective actions to completion and verify that implemented controls are effective.
• Facilitate regular safety meetings, toolbox talks, and employee safety communications.
• Provide EHS training and coaching to employees, supervisors, managers, subcontractors, and vendors as needed.
• Monitor employee safety performance and provide feedback, coaching, or corrective recommendations where appropriate.
• Support compliance with OSHA, EPA, DOT, state/local regulatory requirements, client standards, and company EHS policies.
• Maintain required EHS records, logs, permits, reports, inspections, training records, and compliance documentation.
• Support OSHA recordkeeping and reporting requirements, as applicable.
• Coordinate with operations teams regarding lockout/tagout, hazard communication, confined space, fall protection, electrical safety, PPE, hot work, emergency response, and other safety programs.
• Participate in vendor and subcontractor safety reviews, orientations, pre-task planning, audits, and incident follow-up.
• Monitor regulatory developments, industry best practices, and client requirements, and recommend updates to EHS procedures as needed.
• Support emergency preparedness activities, including drills, response planning, evacuation procedures, and coordination with site leadership.
• Conduct field observations to verify safe work practices and identify opportunities for improvement.
• Partner with Human Resources, Operations, Risk Management, and client representatives on safety-related matters.
• Prepare EHS performance reports, metrics, dashboards, and updates for leadership and client review.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives that reduce injuries, strengthen compliance, and improve operational reliability.
• Perform other related duties as assigned based on business needs, client requirements, and operational priorities.
