About The Position

The Regional English as a New Language (ENL) Teacher is a member of KIPP NYC’s Regional Student Support Services Team and plays a critical role in ensuring multilingual learners receive high-quality, equitable access to rigorous, grade-level instruction. This educator will provide ENL services across multiple KIPP NYC schools, supporting students in grades K–12, with a primary focus on those at the Entering, Emerging, and Transitioning levels of English proficiency. The Regional ENL Teacher collaborates closely with school-based leaders, including Directors of Student Support Services, classroom teachers, and regional staff, to ensure services are aligned to both compliance requirements and KIPP NYC’s vision for excellent, inclusive instruction. Reporting to the Senior Director of Student Support Services, the Regional ENL Teacher plays a key role in delivering high-quality, equitable language instruction, strengthening systems of support for multilingual learners, and ensuring that every student is known, challenged, and supported to achieve at the highest levels. This is a full-time, hybrid position. The role requires a minimum of three in-person days per week, which may take place at the KIPP NYC Midtown Manhattan regional office and/or at KIPP NYC campuses across the Bronx, Brooklyn, and Manhattan, depending on student needs and service delivery priorities. The cadence and frequency of school visits will be determined in partnership with your manager and may vary week to week based on student caseloads, school schedules, and programmatic needs. As such, flexibility is essential, as weekly schedules may shift to ensure all students receive mandated and high-quality ENL services. Travel between sites is an expected and essential component of this role.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Education or a related field
  • New York State certification in ENL, Bilingual Education, or a related area
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience working with multilingual learners
  • Demonstrated track record of accelerating achievement for historically underserved students

Responsibilities

  • Design and deliver data-driven, standards-aligned ENL instruction that accelerates language acquisition while maintaining a high bar for academic rigor
  • Provide targeted instruction to multilingual learners, particularly those at the Entering and Emerging levels, using research-based strategies that integrate language development with content learning
  • Differentiate instruction to meet a wide range of language proficiency levels, learning needs, and grade bands (K–12)
  • Use formative and summative assessment data to continuously monitor student progress, adjust instruction, and drive measurable outcomes
  • Foster inclusive, affirming learning environments that reflect and celebrate students’ linguistic and cultural identities
  • Partner with classroom teachers to align ENL instruction with core content, ensuring students can access grade-level curriculum
  • Collaborate with Directors of Student Support Services to develop and maintain service schedules that meet student needs and ensure compliance
  • Communicate regularly with families about student progress, language development, and ways to support learning at home
  • Work cross-functionally with regional teams to analyze data, identify trends, and implement strategic supports
  • Support the administration and execution of state assessments, including NYSITELL and NYSESLAT, ensuring adherence to all testing protocols
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation related to ENL services, student progress, and compliance requirements
  • Partner with the Regional Manager of ENL Services to track deadlines, ensure regulatory compliance, and support reporting
  • Contribute to a team-oriented, mission-driven culture that prioritizes student success and adult learning
  • Model KIPP NYC’s values and commitment to educational equity, anti-racism, and culturally responsive practice
