About The Position

The Regional Class A Driver is responsible for traveling to company suppliers throughout multiple states to pick up refrigerated, frozen, and other food products and safely transport them back to Imler's Poultry. Drivers operate Class A refrigerated (reefer) tractor-trailers equipped with sleeper cabs. This is an overnight regional driving position, and drivers will spend the majority of their scheduled trips overnight in the sleeper truck while completing assigned supplier pickup routes.

Requirements

  • Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL).
  • Valid DOT medical certification.
  • Acceptable motor vehicle record.
  • Must meet all applicable DOT and FMCSA requirements.
  • Tractor-trailer experience required.
  • Must be willing and able to regularly travel overnight and sleep in the truck's sleeper cab.
  • Ability to safely complete interstate and multi-day routes.
  • Dependable and able to maintain assigned supplier pickup schedules.
  • Strong communication and time-management skills.
  • Ability to work independently with limited supervision.

Nice To Haves

  • Reefer experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Safely operate Class A refrigerated tractor-trailers equipped with sleeper cabs.
  • Travel to suppliers throughout multiple states to pick up company product.
  • Transport supplier loads safely back to Imler's Poultry.
  • Complete assigned regional and multi-day routes.
  • Spend nights away from home in the sleeper cab as required by assigned routes.
  • Verify products, quantities, bills of lading, and pickup documentation.
  • Ensure freight is properly loaded and secured.
  • Monitor reefer operation and required product temperatures throughout transportation.
  • Communicate with Dispatch regarding pickup times, delays, supplier issues, and route changes.
  • Perform required pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections.
  • Maintain accurate ELD records, DOT logs, and other required documentation.
  • Follow all DOT, FMCSA, company safety, and food safety requirements.
  • Report equipment issues, product damage, temperature concerns, accidents, or other problems immediately.
  • Maintain the cleanliness and condition of assigned tractor and trailer.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
