About The Position

Spring Arbor Senior Living is seeking an experienced Regional Director of Wellness (RN) to support our communities throughout Virginia. This role is ideal for a clinical leader who thrives on variety, enjoys mentoring teams, and doesn't mind being on the road. The successful candidate will be a 'road warrior' energized by traveling between communities, building relationships, solving challenges, and helping clinical teams succeed. The Director of Quality and Education is responsible for the development, implementation, and ongoing support of quality management and educational initiatives across Spring Arbor communities. This involves travel to all communities and active engagement with all levels of Senior Living operations.

Requirements

  • Must be 21 years of age or older.
  • Registered Nurse, with active license in NC, VA, and/or MD.
  • Minimum of 2 years geriatric nursing experience, including dementia/Alzheimer’s.
  • At least 3 years management experience in a similar environment.
  • Experience with and a passion for working with seniors.
  • Ability to work in an environment conducive to caring for residents without posing a substantial safety or health threat to self or others.
  • Ability to work well with others and to promote a team attitude in all environments.
  • Geriatric assessment and medication management skills and ability to demonstrate and instruct the same.
  • Knowledge of OSHA, federal, state and local regulations and ability to demonstrate and instruct the same.
  • Knowledge of Spring Arbor SL policies and standards and ability to demonstrate and instruct the same.
  • Ability to establish effective and non-threatening community audit and educational experiences.
  • Excellent customer service, interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Analytical and problem-solving abilities, adapting to changing needs and conditions.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, etc.).
  • Professional appearance and demeanor.
  • Dependable.

Responsibilities

  • Assist communities in planning and utilizing education programs and in-service schedules to ensure team members are adequately prepared for their roles and to maintain compliance with federal and state training regulations.
  • Conduct or oversee annual full internal quality audits in each community, completed in advance of State surveys to identify and correct deficiencies.
  • Conduct or oversee routine mini (focused area) internal audits during community visits to identify new educational needs.
  • Support resident retention by working with community management to identify and address issues and opportunities.
  • Support and encourage Spring Arbor Wellness initiatives.
  • Reinforce the company Mission, Brand Promises, and Values during each community visit or communication.
  • Collaborate with the Senior Director Q&E and Regional Directors to understand specific community needs and challenges and identify opportunities for positive impact.
  • Participate in the interview process for new department heads, particularly Resident Care Coordinator and Cottage Care Coordinator, as requested.
  • Provide excellent customer service in all communications with residents, families, team members, visitors, and the medical and greater community.
  • Provide feedback to community management regarding 'first impression' and 'ongoing impressions' of the community.
  • Interpret and communicate new regulatory standards related to resident care and services in collaboration with the Senior Director Q&E and Regional Directors.
  • Assist with updates and maintenance of P&P and Operational Manuals as needed.
  • Interact with State regulatory personnel as needed to clarify issues or seek guidance.
  • Participate in company meetings as requested.
  • Analyze data and prepare reports as needed or requested.
  • Participate in industry-related seminars to enhance personal knowledge and improve work performance.
  • Perform other related duties as needed.
