About The Position

The Regional Director of Operations is the business leader of a market of multi-specialty dental practices and plays a fundamental role in the internal operations supporting Espire’s affiliated dental practices. They support and provide direct leadership to the entire market, leading the daily operations, training and team development that translates into elevated patient experiences, clinical outcomes and increased office revenues, EBITDA, and year over year growth. The Regional Director will have Practice Managers from other practices within the market reporting to them. The Regional Director of Operations is expected to be the business counter part to the Clinical Directors and Dentists in their Market. The Regional Director of Operations leads and brings to life the Espire experience for their team members and patients. The Regional Director of Operations sets measures, and achieves goals to accomplish the transformational objectives of the practice through the Espire culture. They serve as the primary contact for the region regarding non-clinical matters. Essential to this role is the ability to develop Regional Director of Operations responsibilities are categorized into six key focus areas. They directly influence the patient’s perception of the quality of the practice, and from Regional Management Responsibilities Culture and Leadership Development and coaching for Practice Managers within the region. Provide a general climate of cooperation and understanding, coaching the team, and updating them on various training courses. Regularly conduct meetings with Clinical Directors and Practice Managers analyze the progress of the practice against set goals, financial reports and adapt and execute changes, as necessary. Model the Espire Essentials of Live Joyfully, Lead Bravely and Create Greatness. People Operations Recruit and interview team members with the help of the dentist(s) and team when appropriate. Oversee hiring, terminations, and salary increases as appropriate and within budget. Have ownership of onboarding, training, and the experience for new team members and new practices within the region Responding to clinical and operational concerns timely and effectively. Be accessible and responsive. Implement process improvements and growth initiatives with full profit and loss, EBITDA, and year over year growth responsibility Innovate and implement ways to promote teamwork and constant practice growth. Structure educational plans for self and team to maintain the highest level of expertise in clinical and business functions. Practice Management Analysis of activities, collections, costs, operations, and forecast data to ensure market advances towards set goals and business and growth objectives. Works with Clinical Directors to support and coordinate doctor training and development towards daily production goals and clinical excellence to achieve quality patient outcomes. Meeting with Doctors to discuss current practice/policies and adjust as needed. Monthly reports Patient escalations Oversee entire region to ensure team members and patient needs are met. Developing and implementing procedures and policies. Capacity Utilization Monitor schedules daily and weekly within the region to identify production on the schedule, schedule opportunities, create a sense of urgency to fill openings on the schedule, monitor hygiene schedules, and review/implementing how the region can best optimize the schedule to maximize production and labor. Led Practice Managers to maximize scheduling of re-care appointments within the region. Ensuring schedules are maximized & template is compatible with doctors’ needs. Financial Leadership Oversee billing and collection processes at the region level to ensure they are within company guidelines, including patient charges, and cash collection, preparation of patient claims, submission of patient insurance claims, processing appeals or patient balance inquiries, and coordination of payment posting, collection, and credit adjustments and refunds with the PSC. Profit and Loss responsibility within the region Strategic Decision Making Look for ways to grow the market and make systems replicable. Work on one off project as assigned outside of daily practice operations. Partner with Marketing to identify initiatives to grow the brand awareness.

Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree with a business concentration is required.
  • Prior dental industry experience is required.
  • Must have five+ years of leadership and management experience of an operational team.
  • Multi-location operations experience in customer or patient-based industries is required.
  • Expertise in operations management, strategies and methodologies, strategic planning and execution, and employee motivation techniques.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, excellent analytical, planning, and process development skills, strong business judgment, and an elevated level of initiative are all required.
  • Demonstrated ability to articulate logical and persuasive arguments across an organization is required.
  • Demonstrated ability to respond effectively to multiple conflicting priorities, continuously prioritize deliverables and to respond to unexpected changes is required.
  • 5+ years Prior Regional Dental Management experience
