The Regional Director of Operations (RDO) is a hands-on operational leader accountable for the overall performance of all clinics within an assigned region. Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, the RDO owns regional clinical and financial results, patient and employee experience, and the disciplined execution of system-wide initiatives at the clinic level.
The RDO directly leads the Practice Managers across the region. With Practice Managers overseeing one to three clinics each and Assistant Practice Managers providing on-site leadership at additional locations, the RDO is responsible for ensuring every clinic has consistent, capable practice leadership present and supported.
Success in this role requires deep working knowledge of clinic operations and consistent engagement directly with frontline staff, providers, and practice leaders. The RDO must be proactive, comfortable in the details, and capable of making confident decisions in a fast-moving environment. This leader builds trust through responsiveness and follow-through, communicates with clarity, and coaches to practice leaders toward continuous improvement.
This position serves as the primary bridge between executive leadership and clinic operations, translating strategy into tangible outcomes in the field while carrying the voice of the clinics back to the executive team.

• Reside within the Region specified
• Minimum of 5 years of progressive healthcare operations leadership experience, including multi-site clinic responsibility — Required
• Prior experience directly managing or mentoring managers or other practice-level leaders — Required
• Demonstrated success managing performance metrics, budgets, and operational improvement initiatives — Required
• Experience with EHR/EPM systems and clinic scheduling/operations platforms — Required
• Bachelor's degree in healthcare administration, Business, Nursing, or a related field — Required
• Master's degree Preferred

Responsibilities

• Own the overall operational performance of all clinics within the assigned region, ensuring every site is safe, efficient, well-staffed, and patient-centered
• Directly supervise the region's Practice Managers, holding them accountable for the performance of their assigned clinics and for the development of their Assistant Practice Managers
• Engage actively with clinic workflows to support operational excellence and troubleshoot issues in real time
• Drive standardization of processes, SOPs, and operating cadence across every clinic in the region
• Monitor and drive performance on key indicators including patient volumes, schedule utilization, appointment compliance (no-shows, cancellations, follow-ups), revenue cycle measures (copay and patient balance collections), patient satisfaction, and employee engagement
• Oversee new location openings, clinic transitions, and provider onboarding and off boarding within the region
• Respond to escalated issues and ensure clinic requests are resolved efficiently with minimal disruption to care delivery
• Lead by example, demonstrating ground-level problem solving during periods of operational challenge
• Hire, onboard, train, and mentor the region's Practice Managers, and support them in developing their Assistant Practice Managers
• Conduct frequent site visits to provide in-person coaching, feedback, and visible leadership presence at every clinic
• Build a bench of capable practice leaders through deliberate development, succession planning, and internal promotion
• Build credibility with frontline staff and providers by offering real-time solutions grounded in direct operational experience
• Partner with People Operations on performance management, culture building, staff engagement, and complex employee-relations matters
• Reinforce OnePeak's Ways of Working and leadership expectations consistently across all sites
• Translate system-wide initiatives into regional action plans and ensure execution and ongoing sustainment at the clinic level
• Lead regional implementation of enterprise programs, including the EHR rollout and Rural Health Clinic certification requirements
• Lead local implementation of clinical pilots, programs, and new services with an iterative, results-driven approach
• Enforce compliance with standard operating procedures and lead audit and readiness processes across the region
• Manage change thoughtfully — anticipating impact on teams, communicating early, and supporting leaders through transition
• Own and drive accountability for regional P&L results
• Host quarterly regional business reviews with executive leadership, analyzing and explaining budget variances and driving corrective action
• Review and provide monthly revenue specific details on clinic-level P&Ls to the Chief Operating Officer and executive leadership
• Participate in budgeting and workforce planning to ensure optimal resource allocation, including real-time flexing of staff to optimize utilization and coverage
• Ensure labor efficiency, overtime control, and accurate, timely payroll practices across all clinics in the region
• Ensure bonus structures are calculated and distributed in alignment with performance and budget guidelines
• Uphold all clinical, regulatory, safety, and documentation standards across the region; ensure policies are followed consistently
• Apply continuous quality improvement principles to refine workflows and improve clinic outcomes
• Ensure elevated patient concerns are resolved with professionalism and empathy, and that recurring drivers are addressed at the root
• Support providers by ensuring schedule optimization, operational readiness, and responsive problem-solving
• Escalate safety, performance, or regulatory concerns promptly to the Chief Operating Officer, People Operations, or Compliance
• Partner with HR, Finance, IT, RCM, Marketing, Facilities, and Clinical Leadership to advocate for clinic needs and secure operational support
• Cascade communication from the executive team effectively and ensure clear understanding and adoption at the clinic level
• Serve as the voice of the clinics, escalating issues and sharing insights and feedback with senior leadership to drive solutions
• Partner with the other Regional Director of Operations to ensure consistency of standards and shared learning across both regions
