About The Position

The University of Nebraska Foundation is seeking a Regional Director of Development to serve as a trusted, strategic fundraising partner to enable the University of Nebraska to change lives and save lives. This role is for individuals passionate about higher education, fostering connections, building a philanthropic community, and promoting the University of Nebraska's leading role. The foundation is in the public phase of a historic campaign to raise $3 billion. This position will be fully remote, working from Denver or surrounding areas.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • 1-3 or 3+ years’ experience in development, communication, sales, or another related field.
  • Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills across multiple mediums, including video conferencing.
  • An affinity to Nebraska.
  • Strong collaboration and organizational skills.
  • Ability to prioritize effectively.
  • Discretion in handling and navigating confidential matters.
  • Candidates will also be evaluated on our core values of passion for mission, integrity, and teamwork.

Responsibilities

  • Play a critical role in building a robust community of philanthropic support in the Denver market.
  • Manage a portfolio of donors and prospective donors.
  • Plan and implement major gift fundraising strategies, including identification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of major gift donors.
  • Develop and implement a strategy for each prospect in partnership with Foundation colleagues.
  • Foster relationships with alumni, community leaders, and engaged philanthropists leveraging in-person visits and video technology to enhance connections.
  • Leverage travel by University and Foundation leadership to the Denver area.
