About The Position

The University of Nebraska Foundation is seeking a passionate and driven Regional Director of Development to join their team. This role is crucial in building a robust community of philanthropic support in the Denver market, enabling the University of Nebraska to change and save lives through higher education. The foundation is currently in the public phase of a historic $3 billion campaign. This position is fully remote, based in or around Denver, Colorado.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• 1-3 or 3+ years’ experience in development, communication, sales, or another related field.
• Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills across multiple mediums, including video conferencing.
• Strong collaboration and organizational skills.
• Ability to prioritize effectively.
• Discretion in handling and navigating confidential matters.
• Candidates will also be evaluated on our core values of passion for mission, integrity, and teamwork.

• Experience in higher education fundraising as a student or professional.

Responsibilities

• Play a critical role in building a robust community of philanthropic support in the Denver market.
• Manage a portfolio of donors and prospective donors.
• Plan and implement major gift fundraising strategies, including identification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of major gift donors.
• Develop and implement a strategy for each prospect in partnership with Foundation colleagues.
• Foster relationships with alumni, community leaders, and engaged philanthropists leveraging in-person visits and video technology to enhance connections.
• Leverage travel by University and Foundation leadership to the Denver area.
