About The Position

The Regional Director of Nursing is responsible for the daily and strategic management of nursing operations within their designated region. This includes overseeing nursing operations, education and competency, staffing, scheduling, labor costs, clinical care, and quality improvement. The role involves collaboration with various directors and requires flexibility to travel within the region to provide support and supervision, visiting each location at least once per quarter. The territory covers multiple cities across different states.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing
  • Valid nursing license in state(s) of practice
  • Valid driver’s license and evidence of automobile insurance
  • Three to five (3-5) years of experience in nursing management
  • Three to five (3-5) years recent experience in infusion, preferably in the home
  • Current BCLS
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficiency in data analysis and reporting
  • Flexibility to travel within the region as needed (30-50%)

Responsibilities

  • Oversees and manages the nursing departments in the region to ensure the delivery of high-quality patient care.
  • Ensures that nursing services are provided in compliance with company policies, state and federal regulations, and accepted clinical standards.
  • Provides leadership and guidance to nursing staff in collaboration with other clinical and operational leaders.
  • Collaborates with nurse managers to optimize workflow and streamline processes.
  • Oversees patient care coordination with pharmacy staff and external nursing agencies.
  • Participates in the branch Performance Improvement Program (PIP), focusing on nursing performance improvement initiatives.
  • Monitors performance improvement activities and compliance through regular branch and chart audits.
  • Fosters a culture of continuous quality improvement and patient satisfaction.
  • Responsible for the hiring, coaching, performance appraisal, supervision, and discipline of nurse managers in the region.
  • Oversees hiring, competency development, continuing education, performance appraisal, supervision, and discipline of nursing staff within the region.
  • Ensures the availability of nursing care for the region, including managing the on-call schedule.
  • Analyzes key performance indicators (KPIs) and clinical outcomes to identify trends and areas for improvement.
  • Supports sales staff in growing new business by discussing clinical services and programs, and contributing to marketing and clinical program development.
  • Develops and presents in-services to referral sources as needed.
