EHCEC is the regional development anchor for East Harris County. We operate with the speed of a start-up, the discipline of a high-performance organization, and the responsibility of a backbone institution. We do not run disconnected programs. We build systems that move people, institutions, and communities forward. We build systems. We move fast. We measure outcomes, not activity. There is no playbook for this work. You are not stepping into a polished system — you are helping to build it. Leadership in East Harris County is not limited by talent or commitment. It is limited by fragmentation. Residents, nonprofit leaders, parents, and civic actors encounter leadership development as isolated training, short-term programs, or one-off opportunities rather than coordinated pathways that lead to real influence, governance, and long-term impact. Without a unifying leadership system: Emerging leaders must self-navigate disconnected opportunities Nonprofits lack a reliable pipeline of prepared leaders and board members Civic engagement remains episodic instead of sustained Leadership talent fails to translate into institutional and civic power The Regional Director – Leadership & Development exists to solve this problem. This role designs, builds, and scales the regional leadership engine, creating clear pipelines, aligning institutions, and delivering measurable leadership and civic outcomes for the region. This is a systems leadership seat, not a facilitation, training, or subject-matter-expert role. The Leadership & Development portfolio you design and lead is expected to scale to $750,000–$1,000,000 annually by Year 3 through the systems, partnerships, and funding strategies you architect.
