About The Position

Sodexo University segment has an exciting opportunity for a Regional Registered Dietitian to support Dining Services in MS, LA, TX, AR, and OK. This position requires 40% travel. Reporting to the Vice President of Operations, the Regional Dietitian will be the subject matter expert within Dining Services, the University, and the Campus Community. This position will require strong leadership ability, food service skills, clinical knowledge, and a desire to engage the campus population in conversations around nutrition. Candidate must reside in MS, LA, TX, AR or OK.

Requirements

  • Registered Dietitian credentialed with CDR.
  • Expertise in dietary preferences and allergies to guide nutritional choices.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Proven ability to effectively engage, motivate, and influence others regarding their nutrition.
  • Strong presentation skills.
  • History of working independently with little direction.
  • Commitment to continued education in the nutrition field and implementation of new and innovative ideas.
  • Minimum 2 years of management experience.
  • Minimum 3 years of work experience in health care including hospitals, nursing homes, assisted or independent living facilities, long-term care, retirement homes, or clinics as a registered dietitian.
  • Meets eligibility requirements for Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RD/RDN) by the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) and will become registered within 120 days of hire.
  • Certification/licensure as required by state(s) of practice.

Responsibilities

  • Promote healthy eating habits among the population.
  • Address nutrition issues related to food allergies, weight management, disordered eating patterns, and other medical issues requiring meal selection assistance.
  • Partner closely with Executive Chefs and/or café management teams in selecting healthy menu items, evaluating sales, determining menu adjustments, and promoting nutritional campaigns.
  • Work with athletics teams to provide nutrition counseling and education.
  • Participate in campus and community events and develop and deliver presentations as needed to support client goals.
  • Support food service operations as needed.
