About The Position

United Community Bank is seeking a dedicated and experienced Regional Credit Manager. In this role, you will work closely with Commercial Relationship Managers, Underwriters, Sales Managers, Regional Presidents and State Presidents to ensure high credit quality through the loan approval and portfolio management process. Your primary responsibility will be commercial credit decisioning, where you will play a crucial role in maintaining the integrity and quality of our loan portfolio. Requirements

  • College degree or equivalent; Graduate degree preferred
  • Minimum 10 years in a regulatory or commercial lending background (with at least 8 years in commercial lending)
  • Strong analytical skills with problem-solving abilities
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills
  • Good working knowledge of legal, documentation, and administrative aspects of Commercial Lending
  • In-market presence and regular travel between supported locations
  • Participate in all required compliance training (e.g., Bank Secrecy Act/anti-money laundering)
  • Attend internal and external training programs, meetings, and seminars
  • Must be able to pass a criminal background & credit check
  • This is a full-time, non-remote position
  • FLSA Status: Exempt

Nice To Haves

  • Commercial Relationship Manager experience preferred
  • Supervisory and managerial experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Credit Decisioning and Approval
  • Commercial and CRE credit decisioning of deals up to $7.5MM. For larger deals this role will work alongside the Senior Credit Officer.
  • Approve credits in a timely and efficient manner balancing between the bank’s credit risk appetite and the customer expectations
  • Serve as “gatekeeper” for approval of larger credits above assigned credit authority
  • Risk Management
  • Protect the bank's assets through proper execution and administration of risk management policies and procedures
  • Accountable for quality approval decisions and overall quality of the assigned loan portfolio
  • Lead role in monitoring credit quality, including portfolio risk ratings and oversight of criticized asset and portfolio review meetings
  • Collaboration and Advisory
  • Work with Commercial Lending teams and Bank/Regional Presidents to promote the credit culture of United Community Bank
  • Acts in an advisory and referral role to Lenders and Analysts in matters of compliance, regulation, and policy
  • Policy and Training
  • Recommend changes in underwriting and policies where appropriate
  • Assist in training new analysts, underwriters, lenders, and ongoing training of policies, procedures, and culture
