Regional Creative Manager - Design Studios

Boston Consulting Group•Chicago, IL
•$99,000 - $137,000•Hybrid

About The Position

The Regional Creative Manager is the creative leader and advisor for BCG case teams, partners, and project leaders across Chicago and the Midwest. The role shapes creative direction, recommends approaches, scopes work across presentations, high-value proposals, customer journeys, and videos, and guides quality from initial brief through final delivery. It is an advisory position rather than an operations role; project managers, creative leads, and subject matter experts oversee day-to-day production. The manager also applies AI in conceiving and scoping creative work, builds regional relationships and awareness of Design Studios, and partners with the regional Strategy team on go-to-market efforts. The role reports to the Senior Regional Creative Manager. Work is apportioned approximately 50% to creative leadership and advisory, 30% to case-team relationship-building, and 20% to networking and growing awareness of Design Studios. The position is based in Chicago, requires work in the Chicago office two days a week, travel of about 30%, and generally involves working from a BCG office or in person with clients around 50% of working time, depending on business needs and local policies.

Requirements

  • 6 to 10 years of experience in a creative leadership role at a creative or marketing agency, an in-house creative team, or a consultancy.
  • Experience building strong client relationships, ideally in account management or creative management.
  • Hands-on experience scoping creative work and a deep understanding of the creative process from start to finish.
  • A strong practice in applying AI to creative work.
  • Executive presence, strong commercial judgment, and confidence influencing direction.
  • A bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in design, communications, business, marketing, or a related field.
  • Experience working in fast-paced, matrixed, or global environments.
  • Excellent written and spoken English communication skills.
  • Ability to travel about 30% and work in the Chicago office two days a week.
