About The Position

We are greyhound lovers who facilitate the commercial operation of our vibrant sport of greyhound racing. GRNSW is invested at every stage of the greyhound lifecycle from kennel to couch; breeding, racing to pet placement. Greyhound Racing NSW is the body corporate of our industry, charged with providing strategic direction, innovation and governance. GRNSW promotes the exciting racing aspect of the industry, as well as the equally important rehoming of our athletes. We are seeking a highly motivated, organised and hands on Regional Coordinator to oversee and manage greyhound rehoming and adoption across the Central Coast. The Regional Coordinator works closely with the Regional Pet Placement Manager to optimise the number of retired greyhounds re-homed via fostering or adoption across NSW and the USA in-line with industry, regulatory, organisational and strategic objectives. You will work in collaboration with the regional team to ensure the team is working together effectively to achieve these goals.

Requirements

  • Degree in a relevant discipline, qualifications in animal behaviour, and excellent animal handling skills (or equivalent relevant experience); demonstrated knowledge of canine behaviour.
  • Passion for animal care and wellbeing.
  • Current full driver’s license; including the ability to operate a van or trailer (or must be willing to undertake training to do so)
  • Willingness to travel and work (reasonably) outside normal business hours, including weekends and afternoons.
  • Travel within region and surrounding areas, and to Head Office in Sydney CBD (when required).
  • Some overnight travel may also be required.
  • Demonstrated project and program management skills including setting and delivering to operating and capital budgets.
  • Excellent research, analytical, computer and written communication skills.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills including the ability to meet deadlines.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communications skills

Responsibilities

  • Optimise the number of retired greyhound re-homed via fostering and adoption across NSW and the USA according to industry, regulatory, organisation and strategic objectives.
  • Develop and implement policies, procedures and systems to support the Regional Rehoming Program
  • Conduct in-person greyhound behavioural and temperament reviews
  • Undertake matching processes
  • Act as a point of contract for participants in the region and educate on pet prep and the rehoming process
  • Manage all rehoming administration
  • Assist with day-to-day care and transport of greyhounds
  • Represent GRNSW and GAP at a number of annual promotional and publicity events in the regions.
