About The Position

The Regional Content Coach plays a critical role in building instructional leadership capacity within a region by developing Assistant Principals of Instruction as both individual leaders and a cohesive cohort. This position focuses on deepening content expertise, sharpening pedagogical skills, and strengthening instructional leadership to ensure consistent, high-quality teaching across campuses. Regional Content Coaches thrive in dynamic environments and prioritize hands-on collaboration, spending significant time on-site to deliver targeted coaching and facilitate impactful professional learning. By equipping APIs to lead strong first instruction and data-driven interventions, this role accelerates student achievement and empowers campuses to meet ambitious academic goals.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • 3+ years of teaching experience
  • 3+ years of school leadership or other coaching/mentoring experience
  • High level of proficiency with the Office 365 suite
  • Record of academic results
  • Demonstrated knowledge of research-based pedagogical content knowledge
  • Demonstrated ability to design and facilitate effective professional development sessions
  • Deep expertise in content area instruction, including developmentally appropriate practices, content knowledge, pedagogical content knowledge, and technology integration to enhance teaching and learning.
  • Strong understanding of state standards and policies to ensure compliance and instructional alignment.
  • Proven ability to implement research-based best practices, including the Science of Learning, to improve student outcomes.
  • Adaptability and resilience to thrive in a dynamic, fast-changing educational environment.
  • Strategic problem-solving skills with a results-driven mindset focused on closing achievement gaps.
  • Ability to travel within the region and provide in-person support across multiple campuses.

Responsibilities

  • Provide differentiated, dotted-line support primarily to Assistant Principals of Instruction, tailoring coaching and guidance to each region and school’s unique context and needs. Support may also extend to additional school-based instructional leaders and regional instructional leaders, as assigned.
  • Drive strong Tier 1 instruction and data-driven interventions that close achievement gaps and accelerate student progress through the development of Assistant Principals of Instruction (APIs) and other school leaders—both in person and virtually.
  • Track and monitor APIs’ ability to influence student academic outcomes, using data and observation to identify areas of strength and growth. Provide tailored support aligned to regional priorities and instructional goals.
  • Facilitate recurring regional meetings with APIs and other instructional leaders to build leadership capacity, analyze achievement data, and collaboratively solve instructional challenges impacting student success.
  • Design and deliver professional development aligned to organizational priorities, equipping leaders to train teachers effectively and improve classroom results. Highlight best practices in instructional leadership through consulting, facilitation, and strategic guidance.
  • Analyze student data, student work, and instructional practices to inform coaching, professional development, and resource creation that builds leader capacity and improves teaching quality and learning outcomes.
  • Lead regional initiatives to strengthen instructional capacity, including observation-based coaching, targeted analysis, and the development of pedagogical resources that support effective instructional delivery.
  • Partner cross-functionally within the Regional Team to align training, resources, and priorities, exchanging feedback to continuously improve instructional outcomes and student performance.
  • Design and implement a regional vision for teacher collaboration (PLCs) that positions teachers as instructional experts. Ensure PLCs are grounded in required network curriculum and focused on developing pedagogical moves that scaffold student access to Tier 1 Instruction and Tier 1 Interventions.
  • Collaborate with Curriculum & Instruction Coaches to stay current on curriculum, policy, and practice updates, and to build capacity in school-based instructional leaders for effective curriculum implementation.
  • Hold regular partnership meetings and maintain ongoing communication with regional and campus instructional leaders to align instructional priorities and strategies.
  • Deliver targeted teacher training sessions when data and subject matter expertise indicate that direct support to teachers is the most effective strategy, in close collaboration with Curriculum & Instruction Coaches to ensure alignment with curriculum, policy, and practice.
  • Maintain ongoing peer collaboration to strengthen pedagogical content knowledge and tailor instructional delivery to the needs of specific schools and regional contexts.
  • Create and leverage resources to support and coach the implementation of best instructional practices for all students within the region.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across regions and Headquarters Teams to design and deliver timely professional development that strengthens leaders’ and teachers’ ability to meet ambitious academic goals.
  • Observe professional development sessions and provide actionable feedback to campus instructional leaders to improve training quality and impact.
  • Use coaching partnerships and operating mechanisms to ensure effective in-field follow-up and implementation of all training at the regional level.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned to support regional priorities and drive student success.
