The regional communications support specialist works within the Indiana Department of Health Office of Public Affairs to develop press releases, social media postings, and other messaging designed to promote awareness of public health issues and support local health departments in their efforts to educate residents about ways to protect and improve their health. The position provides technical assistance to Indiana local health departments with communications efforts on various channels, including websites, social media and general marketing. The regional communications support specialist also serves IDOH staff and the local health services commission with the Health First Indiana (HFI) initiative. Other communication projects for the agency are also included. The goals and objectives for this position are to provide exceptional customer service focused on streamlining support from the state level to the local level and improving the visibility of local health departments in Indiana communities.
