TransCanada Turbines (TCT) is the sole authorized overhaul, repair, and maintenance service provider for both Siemens Energy and General Electric (GE) aeroderivative industrial gas turbines, serving an expanding international client base. TCT is headquartered in Airdrie and operates an overhaul depot in Airdrie, a testing facility in Calgary, and field service offices located across the USA and in the UK. TCT is a private company, wholly owned by TC Energy. This is a mature and sophisticated business held to a gold standard on compliance. We are currently looking for an experienced Regional Commercial Manager, to join our sales team. The individual seeking this position must be self-driven, team oriented, and willing to effectively manage this region by interfacing with customers. Reporting to the Manager, Sales USA, the Regional Commercial Manager is responsible for meeting the sales objectives established by TransCanada Turbines (TCT). This will include generating budgeted levels of sales orders and inquiries for TCT approved General Electric and Siemens Energy engines. Emphasis is to be placed on achieving repair and overhaul orders while still pursuing field service and maintenance opportunities where available. The Regional Commercial Manager must work well in a team atmosphere with the various TCT business departments. This position requires a significant amount of travel within the USA.

Requirements

  • Basic knowledge on rotating equipment or gas turbines (preferred).
  • Account management – Customer centric focus and customer service experience.
  • Experience in the power generation and oil gas industries (preferred).
  • Possesses strong interpersonal communication skills both written and verbal.
  • Experience with commercial negotiations.
  • Strong planning, organizational, and decision-making skills are essential.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite applications (Outlook, Word and Excel).
  • 5 years related experience or a combination of education and experience that allows the individual to adequately perform the role, determined by the Manager, Sales USA and Vice President, Commercial.
  • A willingness and desire to learn the business of TCT.
  • Drive and motivation to multi-task and self-manage in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to work with internal and external clients.
  • The ability to establish and maintain good working relationships with co-workers, supervisors, and other internal personnel.
  • Acute analytical and critical thinking skills.
  • Willingness and ability to assist with any activity, at any time, as necessary to support the needs of a changing and demanding customer base in the gas turbine repair and overhaul business.

Responsibilities

  • Achieve the budgeted levels of customer orders for repair, overhaul and field service of TCT approved General Electric and Siemens engines.
  • Effectively manage Customer accounts in the region and maintain Customer base by providing exceptional Customer service.
  • Personally visit Customer sites to discuss maintenance requirements, outage schedules, upcoming opportunities, technical updates, changes at site and market conditions etc.
  • Update TCT management team on customer visits and changes in the region/market.
  • Achieve repeat orders and/or long-term contracts within the market.
  • Ensure that RFQ’s received are analyzed to establish potential profitability and the need for clarification in the quotation process.
  • Work with the bidding team to ensure that customer requests are met, and profitable orders are secured.
  • Maintain CRM to ensure visibility into Customer activity and that Customer information in the system is current.
  • Work with all other Managers and Directors to ensure that objectives are met.
  • Prepare and maintain a business development strategy for the region.
  • Maintain a rolling 3 – 5 year forecast for the region.
  • Assist with, and where necessary, lead contract negotiations.
  • Report on business development and field service issues/progress on a regular basis, as defined by the Manager, Sales USA and Vice President, Commercial.
  • Work with marketing, trading, and supply partners where necessary to achieve goals of TransCanada Turbines.
  • Increase knowledge of the HSE Policy and Manual and maintain a positive attitude towards the health and safety of oneself and coworkers.
  • Take ownership of HSE issues and demonstrate enthusiasm and support for HSE.
  • Other duties as directed by the Manager, Sales USA.
