About The Position

Coldwell Banker Realty, part of Compass International Holdings, is seeking a skilled and business-savvy lawyer to join their in-house legal team. This position will play a key advisory and compliance role within one of the nation's largest real estate brokerage companies. The role supports brokerage operations across multiple states and reports to Coldwell Banker Realty’s General Counsel. The Regional Brokerage Counsel will act as a trusted partner to leadership, brokerage managers, and shared service teams, guiding strategic decisions, reducing risk, and supporting business growth. Collaboration will occur with departments such as Litigation, Independent Contractor Relations, Human Resources, Finance, Marketing, and Learning and Development.

Requirements

  • JD from an accredited law school
  • Member of Massachusetts Bar
  • 7-10 years of legal experience
  • Knowledge of real estate brokerage laws and regulations
  • In-house experience or exposure to corporate legal environments
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently while building strong relationships across the organization
  • A consultative, solutions-oriented approach to supporting business objectives
  • A high degree of integrity, professionalism, and alignment with company values
  • A positive, proactive, “can‑do” attitude

Responsibilities

  • Provide expert legal guidance on laws, rules, and regulations impacting real estate brokerage operations.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate contracts and related documents with independent contractor agents and third-party vendors.
  • Draft and update brokerage forms for inclusion in the internal forms platform.
  • Advise business leaders on strategies that drive success while minimizing legal and operational risk.
  • Review marketing and learning materials for compliance with legal, regulatory, and identity standards.
  • Monitor changes to laws and regulations affecting brokerage operations and develop/deliver related learning content.
